There is supposedly a shuttle to take people back to Terminal B to pick up their cars. 

It’s actually terminal E, D is some Carnival vessel and I believe it’s the Escape at terminal B.

 

Port is overall a total mess. Very chaotic check in, staff mostly clueless and our terminal looks like a shed from the 60ies. But we’ve now found our Haven nook to the side, waiting for boarding.

You can pay those prices instead of having/using meal packages.  We had used our FAS specialty meals.  Then we decided to do one more specialty.  We paid the prices on the menu.

Because you can go to a restaurant and eat a la carte. Restaurants are used by people using a dining package, using latitudes vouchers, using other vouchers, or paying "cash" (i.e., room charge). There were a group of people paying cash at Le Bistro last night.

You're fortunate to have Deepak as your GM.  We always have enjoyed our cruises when he was in charge.  I'm a bit surprised to see that Praveen has shifted gears from Executive Chef to Assistant F&B.  We always have found him to be an outstanding chef, always warm and engaging, and we really have enjoyed the times when he personally prepared our dinners for us.  It looks like NCL may have placed him on the fast track toward becoming a GM someday.  I'm sure he will be a great one.

For Deepak fans, today was his last day on the ship. He will be on a well deserved vacation for a few months in India. 

 

Igor Futivic moves from Food and Beverage director to General Manager

 

Mirko Mercida moves from Assistant General Manager to Food and Beverage director

 

There is someone coming back from vacation to assume the Asst GM slot.

Regarding Deepak, do you mean his last day on the ship until he comes back from vacation, or really his last day on the ship?  ie he’s moving to another ship or another company.

His last day before going on vacation. The Bird chatted with Deepak daily (even saying goodbye on the gangway) and he is scheduled to return to the Encore. The GM is usually a 4 months on/2 months off position. The Bird did not ask what specific day he will return.

 

The Bird teased Igor yesterday about taking over and bumping off the boss. Igor said it was a temporary replacement.

While it may be perfectly delicious, I just noticed that the featured Old Fashioned cocktail is quite different from the traditional recipe, which is a cherry muddled with sugar, bourbon, bitters, seltzer, and a squeeze of orange. I have not heard of an Old Fashioned with vermouth.

So glad as it sounds like Deepak will be back onboard for our August cruise.

 Regarding the cruise director, lots of folks on that other page of faces are complaining about the lack of quality too. Hope she improves before then.
