I usually get a double shot of espresso, then top it off with an Americano.  Maybe it's all that milk that makes it luke warm.  It's been so hot that I've always needed double cups along with a sleeve.

The temperature of my cappuccino has varied. Your milk hypothesis seems reasonable.

Same.  Always a double espresso.   After our last cruise the hotel we stayed in had a machine where a double espresso was one of the options.  I kept hitting single twice out of habit.  😂😂
