Best Cruise line for LOTS of theater productions in Mediterranean. First time cruiser planning a dream trip to Italy for friend fighting cancer and 4 friends. We are in our 60's

For shows in the theater, of the three I've been on in the Mediterranean, I would say RCI, then Princess, then Celebrity.  Though, I can't speak for the newer Celebrity ships.  In general they all have shows in the theater every night, but some will be guest musicians or comedians interspersed with the production musicals on other nights.   The larger RCI ships like Oasis have an ice skating show, which I found more enjoyable than I thought I would.   It also had an open air aqua high dive show that was creative.

IMO, Royal Caribbean is the clear winner for theater productions.

 

Avoid Holland America.

MSC.  Probably no comedy due to the many languages spoken onboard, but lots of live music and production shows.  EM

We always enjoy Royal Caribbean's shows, some more than others of course.

Best shows is Disney.    But Royal has some good ones as well.
