Things to do in Trinidad... on Christmas Day!

I started to look at excursions for our cruise over the holidays on the Jewel and noticed that Trinidad is on the 25th. We had planned on just walking around and do our own thing, but I heard somewhere that on Sundays, and I imagine Christmas, the city empties out. Does anyone have any experience with this, and if so, any other suggestions for what to do instead?

Done multiple Thanksgivings on Ships, US Stops inc PR, St Thomas and most Stores were closed and streets empty

Trinidad any day of the year - stay onboard ship. Definitely don’t wander around anywhere.
