Any luck upgrading flights purchased via Flight Ease

I purchased my flights via Flight Ease and I’d like to upgrade my return flight (Delta) Premium Select to DeltaOne. Delta doesn’t have the ability to do the upgrade because the flight was booked through HAL. HAL wants to cancel and rebook which is silly. Has anyone had a similar experience or have a solution to my issue?

There are many complexities here. Some have to do with the very cheap and severely restricted fare that you will get through Flight Ease. Second is when the seats are actually ticketed...which is why Delta told you to work through Flight Ease.

 

No, it is NOT silly for HAL to want to cancel and rebook. It may be required to get you a fare that is upgradeable.

I book thru Flightease for Delta and I can always upgrade if I want. I go to the Delta app and my flight info is there.

Are you trying to upgrade with cash, miles, or elite status?

I do the same with American. It after it is ticketed which is usually about 30 days out or if one were to pay HAL to have them ticketed early
