Castaway Cowgirl Posted June 11, 2023 #1 Share Posted June 11, 2023 A couple of more questions! I think I remember reading somewhere that Disney no longer has dining in the buffet at dinner? We are not great about getting to assigned dinner times. Do they still have free room service? I remember that they have pizza and hamburgers on deck all day— I think. Just wondering what options are if we miss the dining room?
1025cruise Posted June 11, 2023 #2 Share Posted June 11, 2023 I thought they reopened the buffet, but it's more like a sit down restaurant. With that being said, you will be missing out if you miss the dining room. It's all part of the experience.
WorkingForOBC Posted June 11, 2023 #3 Share Posted June 11, 2023 There is no dinner served at Cabanas; that includes buffet, sit-down, or otherwise. The pizza stand and grill stations are open most of the day and evenings, but all of the options may not be open all of the time. I think since the pizza stand is the "late night" option, it may close down during normal dinner times. It will also depend on the ship and the itinerary. Room service is still free, and it's always available as an option :-)
Rare angelsfort Posted July 25, 2023 #4 Share Posted July 25, 2023 I would definitely reconsider doing the MDR's on board. Do what you have to do to get yourselves there on time (set your watches back a half hour or something!) the dining rooms on board are fantastic experiences and I feel like they're one of the things that sets DCL apart from other lines. (I said ONE OF THE THINGS! Don't come at me!)
Cruisin_Vol_Fan Posted August 7, 2023 #5 Share Posted August 7, 2023 Just off the Magic and can confirm that the buffet (Cabanas) was not open for dinner. It was closed most day by 2:00-2:30pm. Definitely one of our (very few!!) complaints of this cruise. At least one if not two of the poolside options were open later - during dinner time and after. As @angelsfort said...do what you can to get to the dining room! Not only is the service fantastic and the food is above par (for cruise dining we have experienced in the last 5 years) but the dining rooms are unique and part of the experience on DCL. A night at Palo would be another option. It's an additional charge but it is beyond fantastic!!
Rare Oceansaway17 Posted August 7, 2023 #6 Share Posted August 7, 2023 And on the Fantasy 7 day that I took in May, no buffet on Pirate night either which was mostly desserts and few munchies. oh well
