Wonder of the Seas: Anyone recently visit Izumi sushi?

Recommended Posts

Hello!  Was going to book the set course at Izumi but heard some ships have cut the 8 pcs portions to 4pcs for the rolls. Can anyone recently on Wonders confirm if that has been implemented on this ship or not?  The menu shows 8 but also notes thats subject to change.  Thanks!

If you have the dining package it is 4, otherwise it should be the 8

One thing that they won't tell you, and does not show up on the menu, is that if you like more traditional rolls, the sushi chef can make any of the listed rolls the traditional way (no panko, tempura frying, etc.)

We did not have the dining package on Wonder, but did pay in advance for Izumi sushi.  Under the prix fixe menu, we had 4 pcs for spicy crispy shrimp (probably paraphrasing) and 5 pcs for futomaki rolls.  We previously (before the change) had 8 pcs under the prix fixe menu for each.

Oh no, conflicting info just as I expected 😬.  Even with 4pcs, did you find it worth it?

It was plenty for the 2 of us:  2 wonton soups (instead of dessert), 2 firecracker shrimp orders, the two rolls, and two teriyaki bowls.  Ordering ala carte may bring different results.

We always order a la carte rather than price fixed and have always received eight pieces per roll. We also always order our rolls made the traditional way.

the fixed price cost is $39.99/pp plus 18% gratuity, and a la carte the rolls are $15 each. The two of us can gorge on rolls a la carte, add miso soup and still come in at a much lower cost than the fixed price.
