5 Star free Specialty dining on a 5 day cruise.

Looking at booking a 5 days Coastal cruise and was wondering if we still get out 2 free specialty dinners (since it is only a 5 day cruise).  We should as we only get 2 dinners on longer than 7 day cruises, IMO.

Yes, I just did this a few weeks ago and it was also a 5-day Pacific Coastal.

You may need to ask HAL mariner society. But they may say no first time you ask, 50% the next time and yes 100% the third time.

I am not aware that we are restricted based on number of cruise days (just specific restaurants and "events"). However I did have to fight with customer service (land) to tell them 5* gets 100% credit (base meal) and not 50% they suggested they would offer me.

And of course...

HAL reserves the right to modify or terminate the Program, or to change the Terms & Conditions of participation and benefits of the Program, in whole or in part, at any time with or without notice.

What about multi segment cruises?  We are on a 10, a 21 and another 21 on the Eurodam next year.  Should be 5 star on first leg.

If it is booked as a single cruise with a single booking number you will get one set of benefits. If you booked each segment separately (different booking numbers) you will get a set of benefits for each booking number.

Once you get to 5 Star this is something to consider.  Otherwise not a big deal in most cases.  Sometimes other things come into play, such as shareholder credits, Future Cruise Deposits, etc.

We are booked in three segments. First one will get us to 5 star so we will get specialty dinners on leg 2 &3.   Thank you.

Be aware that you don't automatically move up a level until the end of all three segments. You will need to qualify for 5* by days only (no spending bonus) and then ask the front desk for the upgrade.
