Not raining inside

Escorted through security to a temporary YC waiting lounge

Nice AC and no seats left for anyone else

Yes. Downstairs in the Terminal, Yacht Club reception area has seating for about 20, which are processed and escorted upstairs to the holding area with seating for hundreds. The drinks are upstairs. (Unless the drinks are still on board the ship ?) Suppose the sunken vessel must first be raised and removed before the port is opened.

Was this cruise in Europe ?

We witnessed a lot of the cutting in line, bullies, and excursion hogs on our eastern Mediterranean cruise.

2 times witnessed guests almost getting a fist fight with Europeans who cut in front of lines at bars, Guest Services & Excursions.

You are correct

24 of us inside the closet at Terminal C

and we were all moved upstairs

just after you predicted 😉

Drinks are onboard, but at least upstairs we have nice AC and area to spread out

Carnival has messaged all arriving passengers a $20 OBC for them to go have lunch somewhere in Miami. Isn't Bayside within walking distance? Uber? Cab?

That is interesting. We get just the opposite here on the Caribbean cruises. Those from Europe are high class cruisers, while the locals from here are low class rude. Those are our locals who speak fluent English, but prefer to use their native tongue when socializing, butting in lines, or sitting on your jacket left on your excursion bus seat.

There is another plus with it being the Port of Miami. We were on a Celebrity cruise out of Port Everglades and it was a rainy day boarding. The longshoremen loading the luggage onto the ship stop loading in the rain. When they begin loading there were only 2 forklift operators loading the ship, lifting one trolley full of 10 suitcases every trip from the terminal to the ship. Our schedule departure was delayed 2 hours due to the slow loading of luggage. Upon return we witnessed these same forklifts handling 3 trolleys at one time. (It was a sunny morning). Told this story to head porter while waiting to board Seascape in POM  and he told us of a shipping firm that contracted to unload at Port Everglades instead of Port of Miami and within a short time due to the slowness of the process they cancelled their contract and went back to POM.

Seems to depend on the specific sailing. We sailed Seashore out of Genoa end of Mai and did not experienced anything like you described.

You would have a field day here in the YC waiting area up stairs

We got Group 9 and 4 and 1 all coming on in thinking it is a free for all 😂

Probably because the YC butlers are still not cleared to get off ship and put up ropes to keep the 'herd' at bay. Interloping is occurring rather early this cruise ?  Do not think any YCer will be getting the customary escort on the ship this cruise.

Wonder how they hold back the masses from getting on the "bulk" escort to the elevators.

It’s going to be messy

we have Miami Police at the embarkation area where YC and priority boarding is located

no room and a lot of hot and sweaty people hungry and just ready to get on the ship

I have never recommended a Specialty Restaurant because the YC Restaurant is so good, but in this case.....tonight would be the night. They may even make your meal complimentary tonight? Unless, of course you are Diamond, then what MSC gives with one hand they take with the other, Tomorrow.

so you made purchases on your card and you deny them ? wow.

I dont know whats valid and whats not given they are bundled and i have have no final bill so yea, i denied all of them.  So far, none have been added back to my account so my guess is MSC is having a hard time giving AMEX detail on the charges.  AMEX is pretty good about making the vendors provide detail on the charges.

SEASCAPE is a smart ship!

Free MSC for Me App has your realtime charges/billing clear as daylight

Your cabin TV has the same billing information

Any of the Touchscreens around the ship has the same billing information

Customer service will print it out any day/time you wish

You can ask your cabin Steward to delivery your printed statement daily with the Dailes

All of this is clearly stated on your boarding paperwork, or just ask when you are onboard...

Easier than navigating cruise critic 🤣🤣🤣

Wow, just got off the Seascape on 5/28 and found none of these issues.  The ship never felt crowded and people were very friendly.

maybe, it's because a lot of kids in the US are still in school during the week you traveled, which is not the case for OP's week.

Im going to keep this ‘relatively' short because most of you read some of my rants on Morpheusofthesea’s post last week so you have a gist of how I feel about this cruisline
Quick background, 5 family members traveling in 3 cabins. 14141, 14139, 14133  We booked this cruise last minute, about 2 months ago, due to the fact that we were worried about not having one of our passports in time and we could use a birth cert for a cruise.  We, hubby and wife, have about 30 cruises under our belt from pretty much all of the cruise lines, kids have about 10ish.  Loved RCL when the kids were smaller, but have been doing more Celebrity lately now that they are late teens/early 20s.  We live in NC, but grew up in FL hence the reason we have rack up so many cruises early on.
The good
  • Beautiful new ship with lots to do
  • Service staff was very good.  Cabin steward and MDR waiters were excellent.  Bar staff was good once they knew you were tipping.
  • We did the Mexican, Sushi, and Seafood restaurants and they were all very good.
The not so good
  • Embarkation was a not good.  Partly because they seemed a bit unorganized, especially once you had your ship card and are waiting upstairs to get on. People pushing and shoving to get to the front of the line.
  • We booked 1 minor in a cabin and that did not work well at all.  We couldn’t see anything on his account, he couldn’t make show reservations, card didn’t work in the arcade etc.  This was more on us the MSC. We knew it would be a challenge doing this, but when we talked to guest services about getting some of it resolved, it all became our fault even though MSC allowed us to book that way.
  • Loud music at the pools.  People brought their own speakers and started doing karaoke.  Im not even kidding…
  • I didn’t think the buffet was bad, but it was packed every day to the point where people were just getting nasty with each other.  Grabbing food with their hands, kids running everywhere, nowhere to sit.
The ugly
  • It’s hard to describe the mix of people, but it wasn’t good.  Extremely rude, witnessed people shoving others out of their way in the halls/elevators and buffet.  I used the word ‘thuggish’ on of the other posts and that wasn’t an exaggeration.  There were some pretty rough looking people on that ship that I would not feel comfortable letting smaller kids out of my sight around.
  • No end of the cruise statement so I have no idea if our charges are correct.  There are 22 separate charges on my AMEX throughout the week.  I did deny all of them so let MSC explain them to AMEX.  Amex thought my card was stolen there were so many charges…
  • Disembarkation was also bad.  The room with our son it it apparently had a $106 balance on it even through they had my credit card on file for it and had been charging it all week.  They couldn’t tell me what the charge was for, but would not allow us off the ship unless we paid cash.  I finally convinced them that I didn’t have the cash and they let me put it on my credit card which I promptly disputed once we got off the ship.
Bottom line, this is a carnival type of cruise on a nicer ship in our opinion. If you get a heck of a deal on a cabin, give it a try, but if the costs is close to RCL, NCL, Etc, I would avoid this line like the plague.  I know YC would have made this cruise better for us, but I also don’t like to be confined to one area of the ship, especially a ship that had a lot to offer.  We have done haven and retreat and didn’t stay exclusively in those areas, but if we were in YC, I’m sure we would have never left that area.  Just a bad vibe with the masses on that ship.
Happy to answer any specific questions anyone has.

Had the same experience on Divina in January.

On our cruise the passenger’s poor behavior and downright rudeness made the party crowd on Carnival look like rookies.

MSC seems to be attracting these folks in droves. I’m reading this daily on other social media sites.

It’s been 6 months and my husband still won’t even entertain the thought of giving MSC out of the US another try. (It was our third MSC cruise and the first two were excellent.)

One thing to take solace in is that we are at the end of the booking window where people were getting bargain basement cruises from the early post pandemic sales with prices being much more in line with the competition instead of undercutting casino rates on old Carnival ships.  MSC is getting enough market penetration that they don’t see the need to discount as much as they were, and that shifts the customer base that is looking at MSC.  Vegas went through a similar shift coming out of the pandemic when the casinos regained pricing power over their rooms.

Thats great news and in my opinion, the main reason for the people issues.  I think i mentioned this earlier or in another post, but i was talking to a gentleman in one of the bars about our cabins and he had the same Balcony we did and paid less than half of what i paid for mine.  Granted, i dont know what level they had, but for them to get the cabin we got for less than $1400 total for 2 people is crazy. And he had the drink package included, although i think it was the basic one.

We have similar outrage, but for the opposite reason. We are paying for a top suite only to be in a long line to get a table at either the Seafood Extravaganza or Ocean House, because of interlopers or Friends and Family  not in YC cabins. Or wait for an available trolley to and from Ocean House because of them. Think about them taking up the reserved seating in the theatre as well. Sure space ratios tend to indicate enough room, just until one experiences these real life situations,
