So sorry for the delay cruise cousins. W and I are traveling to Cinci to visit AG, BG and the rest of the OH fam. I will be back online tomorrow to continue the review! 🙏🏾

We know you’re really heading to Cinci for the Taylor Swift concert like the rest of the state. 🙂 We were driving down 71 and every other car was filled with Swifties.

W and I decided to go back out to peruse the shops after we ate. We walked down pretty far to the Marketplace. The Starbucks was our destination. W needed to download a book that he forgot about on his Kindle, and I wanted to see if they had the Aruba mug. When we walked in the store, they had the mug so I loaded up my Starbucks card to get it. When I went to pay, the barista said they didn’t take the Starbucks card. Heh? I forgot some of them are like that in different countries. Alright. I knew that I could use the gift card elsewhere so I paid with my credit card. I try not to use the actual card whenever possible. If there is a tap option I will pay with my phone. Nothing is impossible, but I think it’s less likely that my card will be cloned if I use Apple Pay. It’s so sad that we have to be concerned about this stuff when traveling, but that’s precisely when the bad guys strike. When we are having a good time and our guard is low. Tsk.

How far is the walk off the ship to this area? Any casinos in the area?

Very excited to read your review! We have a group sailing in January. And thanks…I googled the Wobble and I’m now exhausted from learning the dance moves 😂🤪

LOL 😆 The Wobble is so much fun! I even have W doing it (or something kinda close to it) now. 😂

That’s so funny because we were actively trying to avoid those traffic jams on the way up here! 😆😜

Wildra-While you are visiting the family in Ohio, I am posting my thanks for writing this review.

It is always a pleasure to read about yours and W’s adventures!

I totally agree with your last prayer giving thanks for luggage with wheels.

I said to my DH on our last vacation, what a great mind it was to think of putting wheels on luggage.

I remember those days, BW, before wheels. Schepping luggage was no joke!

Looking forward to reading more when you get back online.

Enjoy visiting and a happy 4th to you and W.

MJ🙋🏻‍♀️

I remember when my parents got their first set of wheeled luggage and we thought we were just something else and FANCY!  Four wheels that went either straight or tipped over. 😂 My mom would be SO impressed if she could see my wheeled luggage now that I can roll along with barely a push even sideways.

Wildra’s prayers are one of my favorite things!

Those suitcase wheels have come a long way! We had the ones with just 2 wheels at first. The struggle was so real! It was a workout pulling those things thru the airport! Just rugged. 😜

Curacao

We had an excursion time of 10:30 on Curacao (or Cu-rocka-soo as Cookie calls it), so we set our alarms for 8:30. I woke up around 8 and just snoozed until 8:30. Mmmhmm. That’s that good life.

W got up shortly after me and we began the task of bumping into each other, and miscellaneous inanimate objects, until we were ready to go. While I was handling my hygiene in the restroom, I heard a loud crash followed by an expletive that I can’t write here. I looked out, and right by the couch, there was broken glass on the little table and the floor. I said ”what the heck?” (For real) and W told me he threw the pillow on the couch and it hit the glass and broke it. OMG. Can't leave him alone for a minute.

SMH, I just went back in the bathroom and continued my ritual. W is gonna W no matter what.

When we were all set, we went up to forage for food. I wasn’t really in the mood for anything, so I opted for the norm. The Lido was full of hustle and bustle. There were lots of bodies in motion all over the place. Side note: What exactly is bustle and why is it always behind hustle? Is it not possible to solely bustle? Why or why not? Inquiring minds want to know.

As I pondered this mystery, I went down to Blue Iguana. And *gasp* there were no arepas. Why are they so popular all of a sudden? Who's been spilling the tea? I thought we agreed that what happens on Cruise Critic stays on Cruise Critic. Talk to me fam.

I clutched my nonexistent pearls, and did a mental slow wall slide, I just got the huevos rancheros (no huevos) and went to find a seat. I decided I wanted French toast while I was there (cuz no arepas), so I went back to get that on the buffet. When I got there, a server was filling up the tray. By filling, I mean adding one piece of French toast at a very slow pace. She was taking her sweet time putting them in the pan. She was moving so slow, it almost felt passive aggressive. Like "I see all of y'all waiting for this, so I’m gonna make y’all wait. Muhahahaaaa"

Lady, what is the reason? The faster you get this out here, the faster we will all go away, then you can get back to handing out those slices of ham that nobody wants. Do better.

After I got the food, I went back to the table. W wasn’t back yet. As I was sitting there, I noticed that the floor was slippery in the aisle. It also felt slightly damp. I saw several people slide on it, and almost fall, so I made a mental note to be careful when I got up. I also determined that it wasn’t wet from a spill. It was wet because it was humid in there with the door constantly opening and closing. The tree by us dripped water from the humidity and condensation a few times during breakfast. Le ew.

At around 9:50 we went back to the cabin to collect our belongings. When we got in the elevator this lady got on trying to continue a conversation with us, that she was having with a crew member before getting on. Did she think we were listening to them? Did she forget who she was talking to? Was she alone, and just needed friends? We had no idea what was happening, or what she was talking about, so we just smiled and nodded. Mercifully Deck 7 was a quick ride. We exited that elevator as fast as humanly possible, then spent a little time in the cabin handling last minute crap. We left around 10:09.

When we got to the end of the pier, we asked the Carnival Rep, and we were directed to our tour, which was lining up right there by the door. There were no signs, just lines. We were doing the Curaçao Highlights and Mambo Beach excursion. Rio and Layla were our guides. Fiesta Tours Curaçao operated our tour.

The first stop would be Chobolobo Liquor factory. We had 15 minutes there. We piled off of the bus and W and I went to the front of the line so we could go straight to the store. We didn’t need to hear the tour, we did it the last time that we went to Curacao. We already knew what we wanted.

After our tour guide gave us some info, we went in, got our samples, and as soon as it wasn’t rude anymore, we quickly went into the shop to make our purchases. We were supposed to be done in 15 minutes, but W and I were done in 9. We understood the assignment, and we aced it. We got right back on the bus when we were done. The bus left after 25 minutes. If you are going there, remember the lines are very slow at the registers. Prioritize accordingly.

We rode along and listened to more history about the country until we arrived at Mambo Beach. We filed off of the bus and followed Layla into the beach. Just like the other excursions, our chairs were reserved in a special area. This was actually really good at Mambo Beach cuz it was full full. There were wall to wall humans everywhere. If we ever go back to Curaçao anytime soon, I will definitely rethink our excursion plans. We needed more time at that beach. We kinda picked that tour last minute, so I’ll admit I didn’t give it my normal detailed research. Don’t get me wrong, it was nice and I highly recommend it, but I would’ve liked more lazy time and less riding around listening to "bok bok bok".

We found a shady spot, then I walked around a little taking pictures. Although parts of it were under construction, it was a nice marketplace and beach. The water is breathtakingly beautiful, but it was cold compared to Aruba and Bonaire. Of the 3 beaches that we visited, this was my favorite. It was the aesthetic for me.

W and I got in the water for a very little while, then it was time to go. We had to be back on the bus at 1:50. As we were walking back up, W said he had to go to the restroom. Excuse me, but why now? You couldn't possibly do this when we… never mind. I sighed heavily, and reminded him that we only had 5 minutes. If he wasn’t at the bus at go time, he would just become a citizen of Curaçao. I'm gonna miss him, but I'll make the hard sacrifice to visit him there as much as possible. Darn. Life's full of tough choices, isn't it?
