Changing reservation

I made a (refundable) deposit on a cruise for next May, but I need to switch weeks, which will also change ship and port, due to work conference. Is it easier to just call to cancel my current reservation then rebook online or have them transfer the reservation to a new booking over the phone? Sometimes I feel like maybe I'm not communicating well on the phone cuz they don't seem to understand what I'm asking. So I'm thinking it might be easier to cancel? I've never had to do this before though. Any thoughts?

If you had any perks with your original booking, I would call and switch to the new week since it was refundable, and if the price was the same.

I would just cancel and start over.  I agree with sometimes having language barrier issues when calling
