My favourite late evening entertainment. Always fun, sociable and very well attended. Unfortunately, Britannia holds it in the afternoon (not good) and the two big ones do not hold it at all.

Yes, we really like them and it is good to hear that at least some ships are retaining the tradition.

We were on Iona a couple of years ago and we asked a member of staff from the Future Cruises Desk whether Iona and Arvia would ever hold those quizzes in future.

The lady looked at us as if we were mad, and (rather snootily) said: "Oh no. P&O are not aiming to attract THAT type of passenger any more. That's for the older people."

It made us feel absolutely ancient!!!  ☹️

Cheeky. We loved the Syndicate quiz when travelling with the children and my parents. There were always family groups of all ages and everybody seemed to be enjoying the experience.

On Aurora this month Syndicate was packed every night. 20 teams some nights. Lots of younger people joining in too. Very entertaining. Nice sociable way to end the night if you are not interested in the late show.

Good to hear it is thriving on Aurora, with plenty of teams! I think the last ones we took part in, pre-Covid, were probably on Aurora. We used to eat early, go to the earlier show in the theatre and then enjoy the 10.30pm quiz.

It would be good if P&O didn't ditch them entirely. I do think they can be enjoyed by people of all ages, as everyone brings their own areas of knowledge and expertise to the table.

Ridiculous comments from P&O staff about "that type of passenger" and assuming it for old people. On Ventura last year we found 2 other couples on first night to play in Syndicate with one couple early 20s, the other in their late 50s and us in our 40s. It is a GREAT way to find new friends and socialise and is for ALL ages. Britannia last year I made some excellent friends playing Syndicate in afternoon on Britannia and none of us are over 50!!!! Maybe if they asked their entertainment team they would tell you how popular and competitive and fun this format is on their cruises. I really look forward to Syndicate when going on P&O. My partner loved it for her first time!!! it was highlight of her day!

Got similar comment from Assistant Entertainment Manager when I complained about no late night Syndicate on Britannia. She said "this is a family ship and there is no call for it". What rubbish. The afternoon quiz was packed every day, even in good weather. I think these ships just do not have suitable venues for the number attending and not enough staff to run it. Glad it still continues on the small ships.

We were on that cruise too and really enjoyed the syndicate quiz. All of our team looked forward to meeting up for it. The Horlicks afterwards was lovely too!
