Hi from Australia.

Previous cruises have been with Oceania.

We are looking at our first SS cruise 28 days Sept 5th 2024 Copenhagen -Copenhagen.

Initially we were looking at previous cruises that included Geiranger fjords but dates aren’t quite right for us and prefer a longer trip.

For any cruisers that have sailed a similar itinerary, could you give us an idea if we are going to experience some fjord sailing and thoughts on this trip.

Appreciate any replies.

Cheers

Flåm is the only deep water fjord. The first half of the trip is a Baltic cruise; the second half is (mostly) Norway.

Without more information, I cannot find your cruise to see where it actually goes. Having just done a 10-night cruise, fjords and scenic cruising were definitely there. Plus I added an excursion choice that included more fjords.

There will be a little bit of deep fjords with Flam as Gnomie said, but the rest is western coastal Norway and Baltics.  All those areas have their own unique appeal (though fog can make everything gray and unpleasant while sailing, the towns are still interesting in the Baltics).

However, there is quite a bit of scenic cruising mixed into these sections other than Flam, e.g., between Helsinki and Stockholm is scenic and lovely, and with one or two exceptions the ports are stimulating.

This is a good cruise if you have never been there.  If you are interested in ship excursions, be alert to be ready to research and book them when they open up (which may be as soon as now).  Same with the reserve dining rooms.
