cruisingiscool Posted September 13, 2023 #1 Share Posted September 13, 2023 Does the ship provide shuttle buses from the port to main street Gibraltar? I know there is a kiosk for the local ones but understand the wait is long between shuttles .
Pine Man Posted September 13, 2023 #2 Share Posted September 13, 2023 No, only the local paid for transfers are available.
lincslady Posted September 13, 2023 #3 Share Posted September 13, 2023 I believe it is a local 'law' , to give locals work. Happens in other ports, where there are only taxis to go into town.
cruisingiscool Posted September 13, 2023 Author #4 Share Posted September 13, 2023 Would we be able to get a taxi? My mobility is not good so the easiest way is the best for me?
kevcharben Posted September 13, 2023 #5 Share Posted September 13, 2023 (edited) Most of the transport are 6 to 8 seater Van / buses, you pay at the Kiosk for tickets one way or return. A little bit of a wait if you disembark / return at busy times but other than that its fairly starightforward. You just ahnd the taxi / van driver the ticket and thats it Edited September 13, 2023 by kevcharben

These would take you wherever you wanted to go. In particular, savvy passengers used to use these to go straight to the Rock cable car station and beat the rush of those using the shuttle and then walking through town. The town is easily walkable from the ship if you are reasonably fit and mobile. A straight uncomplicated road, takes about 15 minutes from ship to main square.
