Quantum of the Seas Drinks Package

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone, I am sailing on Quantum out of Brisbane for Xmas.  I have a Grand Suite booking.  My friend and her 2 children also have a Grand Suite booking.  We therefore have happy hour in the Concierge Lounge from 5.30 to 8pm.  We are trying to decide what drinks package to buy as it looks to be $140 p/d and that will be a lot of drink on top of happy hour.  At the moment it's 50% off for the second guest however we are in different staterooms so does anyone know if we can still get 50% off the second guest or must they all be in the same stateroom?  Thanks in advance.

It used to be about 8 drinks to break even ,depending what you drink.

But unless you are a fish I wouldn’t be bothering with the drinks package if you have a full suite.
You can take a bottle of wine each and 12 nonalcoholic drinks on boarding.

From a recent discussion, one person booking the package gets 25% off, so you can independently get 25% off each.

You are right though. If you can get through the day with 2 drinks before concierge lounge and three after, you will be way in front without the package.  My experience of concierge lounge is that they have generous pours, so you can do a fair bit of damage in 2 1/2hrs

They usually give you a couple of roadies at the end of the session.

I used to find I was ready for bed after a few of their martini’s.

Thanks arxcards.  I just called RCI and was able to gets answers to a variety of questions including we can't get any %discount if we are in separate rooms due them being on separate bookings.  But yes, we can pick up some waters from the Concierge Lounge while doing some damage during happy hour, so I think it will be overkill to get the package, specially given we can take a bottle on board as well.  I appreciate your info.

If you do the happy hour and had a drinks package as well, could you still walk!!🥳🍷🍷

Are you talking from experience Eileen?

Definitely not…my 4 drinks on RC are all I can cope with and that is having a chardy with lunch and two at dinner and if I can possibly manage a cocktail later in the night!    We are nearly Diamond + so do not know how I could manage 5!

even on Azamara last Christmas I could have as many as I wanted but mind you i gave away the Chilean chardy because it was so bad and had to find something else!

This was posted but a couple of days ago. By going in and doing a dummy purchase and stopping before the payment page, it gives the discounted price for a single purchase. Click the link at the top to go to the relevant post.

May you enjoy good company with your beverages in the lounge.

Not that it was a particularly memorable meal, but Barb did fall asleep at Chops one night following a session of generous pours in the lounge.

Also, Arxcards can you stroll out of Concierge Lounge with an Evian bottle or 2 under your arm or in your bag?  Thanks.

That I don't know Lozzie. I have walked out with coffees, or heading to dinner with an unfinished drink or two, but not with takeaways or bottles of water. @Chiliburn would know for sure.

I don’t think they would care the slightest ,we had free drinks delivered to a specialty restaurant quite a few times by the suite waitress.

You are basically a first class passenger, they do look after you ! You have to expect something for the money you are paying.
You should get a free ship tour if you ask the concierge .Also front row seats at shows ,escorts at ports .The suites party is pretty good , free drinks, the captain and a few of his mates will be there.

We had the head chef and waiter come to our cabin once ,introduce themselves and ask us to be there guests.

Also you will get a private number for the kitchen.Anything you want, they will cook it and bring it up to your for free. The Royal hamburger is good.

The concierge will email you the week before your cruise and if there’s anything you want , just tell them, they will sort it for you.

Being a suite guest is pretty good for the ego and be warned it’s addictive.

The price of $140aud is the cost for each person in the cabin. The discount price is as shown 50% off, another RCL slight of hand so 2 adults in one cabin $280 per day.

I've been monitoring the deluxe drink package price this year and the cheapest price was AUD $107/day/person on Sep 14th sale thus far for my upcoming 7 night Quantum cruise. I regret not grabbing it at the time tbh.

Now, I'm hoping that it will match that or be lower during next month's Black Friday / Cyber Monday sale. (usually has been the cheapest time of the year for the packages in my past RCCL cruises)

It may help if our dollar picks up a bit.

When is that going to happen.  They are talking about the price of cruises having risen this year.   Well with our low dollar that is just another reason for the price to rise.   We can only hope that with the increase in the number of cruise lines coming to OZ it might just hold the prices!

another reason I have 6 cruises booked!

True but I was referring to drink package pricing, moving around almost on a daily rate, the package is generally $99USD / day but can drop due to a sale. That means it is generally $140 Aud per day to $150 with currency fluctuations, and dropping to  $107/day with a sale or anything inbetween.

BTW, on 9/14 when the deluxe drink package was a low $107/day, it was a 35% off sale, not the more common buy 1 get 1 50% off sale.

Another one I missed was the Unlimited Dining Package. Was $395/person on May 6th this year (40% off sale). I once again contemplated and didn't get it. Today, it's $541/person and it hasn't gone below $497 for past 5+ months. (best since was a 25% off sale)

Here's to hoping that the Black Friday sale will top both! 🤞

Unfortunately the  base price is higher now, so even with 35% off it's unlikely to fall below $115.

Such high RCCL drink package prices are making the Princess Plus/Premier package prices just look amazing in comparison... Along with their kids for free sale earlier this year, the cruise ended up being so much cheaper than an equivalent RCCL with a better drink package (drinks up to $30) as part of the premier package. https://www.princess.com/cruise-deals-promotions/au/plus-premier-cruise-packages/
