Live from Anthem

So I spent some time in the casino. I always believed that people hit big (if ever) on day 1. Wouldn't say "big" but I left while up. 

Not much doing tonight that outweighs a good night's sleep.  We didn't sleep well last night....

 

Tomorrow lots happening.  

Plus we got a tour of the thermal suite since my dh has a pass. Also treating dd to a massage, dh to hot stone massage and me a facial. 

 

Our dining is early in Chic. I dont think we've ever seen that room.  I will say the menus aren't exactly what we're used to (we're the least fancy people ever) but we're extremely full. 

 

So far not many major observations orher than that...    and the free Northstar seems to only show available (was available) while we were in the NJ port.   I don't see it anywhere else on the calendar.   Just day 1 free or extended for a fee. If you're going to try to do free book through the app the second you get on board.

I've sailed on Anthem for 75 nights and never noticed that.

Additional slots will show up each day.  I don't recall when they release new times. 8 AM???

 

FYI - Port days (non-extended) are free.  Sea days are usually for a fee, but YMMV depending on demand.

I cannot imagine paying $40 for the extended experience...especially while at sea. Literally nothing to see but the ship and water.

Last night wasn't much fun but RCCL handled the situation well.  About 11:45 pm we started hearing a loud banging sound coming from the balcony.    Turns out a piece of the balcony divider was flapping in the high winds...slamming into the ship.

 

Once all 3 if us were awake as a result I went to guest services.   About midnight by then, she took my information and called housekeeping in front of me (maintenance isn't 24 hrs).  By the time I got back to the cabin, someone was already there. Upon looking, she determined we should move elsewhere for the night and it could be addressed in the light of day.

 

We moved about 15 cabins away (not the same cabin type but ok) just to sleep.  Now I'm not sure how today will go, but that was definitely the best way to handle.  Not sure what would have happened if the ship was completely full.

I THINK the captain is Captain Srecko Ban.  Please don't quote me on that because I heard the name twice but couldn't figure out how to spell it so I googled it. Lol

That's probably correct, since he was the captain on the transatlantic last month.

Gonna be on the next voyage - how's CK?  And what does the age demographics look like onboard, more young adults / families/ older folks?

I haven't seen a lot of kids.  Those who are onboard are fairly young but a handful of teenagers.  I feel like it has been pretty evenly divided across all age gropus with majority between 55 to 75. I could very well be wrong.
