We cruised to Bermuda from Philadelphia on the Norwegian Majesty. 

A combination of reasons led to its demise as a cruise port.  The cruise lines were building larger ships that couldn't pass under the Delaware River bridges, it took over 8 hours to reach international waters where the ship could open its casino and shops, cleaner, more expensive fuel had to be used during that long sail down the Delaware and there were three other ports, New York, Bayonne and Baltimore nearby competing for cruise business.

It all added up to the economics of cruising from Philadelphia just not working for the cruise lines.
