kahuna21 Posted December 2, 2023 #1 Share Posted December 2, 2023 Ketchikan, I’ve seen a lot of complaints from 2022 cruisers about the shuttle service. Can folks who experienced this in 2023 say how it went?
chuckw Posted December 2, 2023 #2 Share Posted December 2, 2023 We were on Celebrity in May. the shuttle works pretty well and we, in our 70's walked one way.
Eager2Travel Posted December 2, 2023 #3 Share Posted December 2, 2023 The Shuttle works fine. Very convenient. Runs frequently. He took off with just us in it on Regent last summer.
wolfie11 Posted December 2, 2023 #4 Share Posted December 2, 2023 If you are on a 400 passenger Regent ship, it works just fine. On a 4000 passenger NCL ship, it takes a while.

Did Celebrity dock at Ward Cove? Ward Cove is 6 or 7 miles out of Ketchikan.

Celebrity doesn’t dock at Ward Cove. It’s a seven mile walk into Ketchikan. Do you mean the free Downtown shuttle bus in Ketchikan?
SomewhereGirl Posted December 2, 2023 #7 Share Posted December 2, 2023 I used the shuttle this year when the Jewel docked at Ward Cove. It really was not a big deal. There were lots of busses (some double decker, some school). I waited a bit before getting of the ship to avoid the initial rush, and never had to stop walking from the time I exited the ship to boarding the bus. Very easy. Dropped off at berth 4 in town (in 2021 when this all started, the drop off was closer to berth 2). On the return, there was no wait at all to board a bus back to Ward Cove. Not everyone on the ship will be using these shuttles.
