Today we were in Puerto Limon, Costa Rica. Another very hot, humid day. The dock is right downtown so no problem getting around. It has a huge shopping area in the terminal with competitive prices.

We took a half day tour with a private company, Relax Day tours. It included a tour of a Del Monte banana plantation, Tortugero Canal boat ride, fruit stand, and beach with a great restaurant for lunch. Had a very tasty deep fried whole snapper and plantains. Lots of stops along the way to see things they spotted- 3 sloths for example. Good tour, but the minivan seating was tight.

Seafood spring roll was good, but could have used more sauce. Boston lettuce salad was very good. Tuna was great, onion rings were awful- skip those!-  and DH liked his pepper pot soup and the liver. The Sacher torte was tasty but the tiny bit of whipped cream was kind of silly!

Today is a sea day and it is very windy outside. Lots of water on the Lido aft deck this morning. Attended the Captain's talk this morning where he and Tjalling were quite entertaining. Someone asked if there were any new Pinnacle ships coming out. The Captain said there was one in the works but it was taken over by Cunard, and will be the Queen Anne. He added that there are no slots available right now in the new build shipyard until 2028, and they are still exploring new technology for new builds.

Had room service for lunch yesterday,- club sandwich and beef panini; neither was that great. Chocolate cake was decent. Went out for a bit and when we got back a surprise had arrived- our 100 day medallions were waiting on the bed. Woohoo! Shouldn't they come with a free bottle of wine or something??😄

Falmouth terminal is pretty easy to get around. Nice flat surface for those wondering about that, and not far to the shopping area, which is quite big. Tons of stores with more or less the same stuff, very little of it is locally made. If there is something you like, check out a few places first and compare prices. In the middle, there is a duty free, best prices for liquor. At the very far end is a small pharmacy. You would have to be very sick to buy anything there- a small bottle of North American cough syrup was $42. US....

Just before that area, there is a craft market. Mostly the same stuff but a few had some locally made items. Lots of carved wooden things everywhere. The open air places will haggle, the shops don't.

Public washrooms available.

We both had scallops which were nicely cooked; the sauces were forgettable but that's not what we order them for! DH also had salmon again which was excellent. The cauliflower soup was very good. And the Walnut Torte was heavenly- a very nice, light cake. It looks heavy, but it isn't.

I tried the gingerbread latte, found it too sweet. But the spiked eggnog is heavenly!

We are en route to Curacao, going extra fast to get there sooner. Apparently someone is critically ill, and the captain called for blood donors. Fingers crossed.

Hey @QuattroRomeo was the Spiked Eggnog on a special drink menu (maybe holiday menu) at Grand Dutch or other bar? Do you have a picture showing it available? Thanks!!
