Usually these deals show up for interior rooms with over and under beds.  I was told by a PVP that although that is what the ad shows, sometimes you are assigned a different type of room based on availability, and you could get a normal interior or even a balcony if there are any available.  Has anyone found this to be true?  For those that have booked this deal, what was your experience.

THANK YOU!

Yeah, that is as likely to happen as being allowed to steer the ship.  Last minute sales are intended to fill leftover cabins.  Upsells have already gone out to sell any desirable categories

I had a deluxe ocean view on the Venezia for $50 and got to processing my payment (which went through), but this was at the exact time when Carnival had their 8-10 hour issue with their website back in August. I didn't get the confirmation due to the site issues and when I spoke to my PVP he said all bookings were not saved or people who saved rooms waiting for payment. I was bummed but ended up with a a full interior. It can happen but seems to be a very small chance. More likely than steering the ship lol.

My PVP told me that casino rate rooms are grouped together. Let's say someone booked a casino rate balcony (big spender to get the free balcony) and they cancel a week out, that room could possibly be booked by the next casino rate passenger and get that balcony. If a person cancels a non casino rate room, it does not open up for the free casino rate room. They can create a queue or waitlist which is what I did last time. Called my PVP about a sailing to be put on the last minute deal and they called me at 11pm that night saying a room became available. This is why a lot of the times when you go to book the *Free* cruise it then says no rooms available since the PVPs are grabbing the rooms behind the scenes.
