crowpark Posted December 9, 2023 #1 Share Posted December 9, 2023 We are booked on this 10 day cruise at the end of February and getting mixed info regarding yellow fever certificates The itinerary includes Cartagena, and from here goes to Panama canal and then to Costa Rica does anyone know if we will be allowed to access these ports? We do not have a yellow fever certificate due to the vaccine, not been recommended for over 60s Any info, greatly appreciated
CruiserBruce Posted December 9, 2023 #2 Share Posted December 9, 2023 You are doing a partial transit, roundtrip from Ft Lauderdale? No, you don't need a yellow fever vaccination.

I have never been advised that I needed a yellow fever certificate on any of them, don't have one, never brought it, and was never asked for it. I'm a U.S. citizen, and perhaps the requirements for different countries vary.

Similar numbers...4 full, one partial transits, numerous stops in Costa Rica (both Caribbean and Pacific sides) and Cartagena, never required yellow fever shots, don't have them.
leaveitallbehind Posted December 9, 2023 #6 Share Posted December 9, 2023 Agree with the comments made by @CruiserBruce and @Honolulu Blue in that in our experience as well this was not an issue and was not a topic of discussion relative to our ability to board the ship or disembark at the relative ports of call.

MacMadame Posted December 12, 2023 #8 Share Posted December 12, 2023 Panama only requires Yellow Fever vaccinations if you are coming from Brazil. (I looked it up as soon as I booked the Panama Canal cruise.)
