  1. Someone on CC (sorry, forgot who) said they used their husband's fitness classes as well as their own. The gym seemed to just want the cabin #. Of course, as will all things cruising, I suspect this depends completely on the ship, the crew, and the phase of the moon. 🤣 Anyway, I intend to try it. And, if it doesn't work, I'll either pay for the class or do one of the free ones. @uprivermama I am 15+ years out from gastric sleeve surgery. Depending on when your cruise is, you may be able to eat slightly more volume per meal than 3oz (maybe 4-6oz). However, even now, this many years out, I look at the pictures of meals people post here and think "No way I can eat that much!" My plan is to eat a bite or two from every course otherwise I'd be full after the appetizer.
  2. It's $24.99 now. Of course, they have. But it's not like I can get an alcoholic drink for less than $2 or a soda for 25 cents. And wifi isn't free even though they've paid for the equipment to provide it several times over. Therefore, IMO, what Princess really spends to provide us with those things is irrelevant. 🤷‍♂️
  3. I am sure Princess is making money on everything including the packages. However, your math is not mathing. For some of us, the package costs us less money than buying everything a la carte even if we only have 1-2 drinks a day. How much money Princess is making off us is irrelevant to this equation. What matters is how much we are paying. I'm not going to pay more by going a la carte when I don't have to.
  4. This is the email I got on Oct 18 '23 (so about 6.5 months ago) 🤷‍♀️ Good day , We have received your request to transfer your booking [REDACTED] to your travel agency, [REDACTED]. Please note that per our policy, reservations can only be transferred within 90 days of the creation of the booking. Your current booking was created on July 10, 2023, and unfortunately can no longer be transferred. Kind Regards, [NAME REDACTED] Revenue Processing/Administration Support Princess Cruises adminsupport@princesscruises.com
  5. No. I would compare it to Margaritaville at Sea though. (I thought I said that but I guess I wasn't clear.)
  6. I don't think Walmart is remotely accurate. Maybe Target. But even then, the analogy doesn't work for me. Unless you are talking about a Margaritaville at Sea cruise. Most cruise lines are more upscale than Walmart, Target, etc. You might find a better analog if you say one cruise line is more like Saks, another Nordstroms and a 3rd is Macy's. They are all department stores but they have varying levels of luxury and quality of good. Target and Walmart aren't even close.
  7. Princess emailed me that it was 90 days when they rejected my request to transfer. (It was 97 days). But we have seen misinformation being given by Princess before. If the form says 60 days, I would go with that.
  8. Don't you think they'll put the Signature dining into a bigger space with this change?
  9. Do they have the TRX equipment in the gym still?
  10. I was planning to buy the 100 lb ones but some of the reviews I read said they are TOO strong. What ones do you buy?
  11. I had no idea there there lighthouses on the Panama Canal!
  12. So this is how statistics can be misleading. The *average* may be 1 in 10,000 cruises (though that seems low - a crew member on reddit says it's more like 1 in 30) but an individual's risk could be higher or lower than that. Your own risk depends on your health but also what the itinerary is. A itinerary in an area with high-tech medical care has a lower risk since you are more likely to be naer a port with a hospital that can care for you until you need to go home, for example.
  13. They push them because it's upfront revenue and it's a known amount so easier to budget for and manage. At least that's why most companies have packages. 😄
  14. I booked every night at the same time with the idea that once we have a better idea of onboard activities, we could change a few nights either by going to an alternate venue (SD, buffet) or changing the time, particularly on Port Days with a later return time. Also, 5:00pm is a bit early even for us. Your post I was responding to said "earliest times" not 5:00pm exactly. We're booked for slightly later than that. Anyway, I think Princess trying to guess which dining we'll want now that there are new choices is a bad idea. It will make what is going to be messy even messier IMO.
  15. Given that the price of cruises go up over time, it's hard to say how much of that difference is for Premier and how much is the normal raising of prices that always happens, though.
  16. The last funeral I went to, the dress wasn't that much different than Princess' formal nights. 😉 IOW, we saw people without ties, women not wearing dresses and even some in jeans. We would have seen shorts but it was March in NJ so too cold. 🤣 That said, we're going to get dressed up for our 3 Formal/Dress to Impress nights. Definitely a suit for dh and possibly one of his fun ties and an extra fancy dress for me.
  17. I know! I don't even change shoes or purses as much as some of them do when I'm on land. We don't plan to do carry-on only for our upcoming cruise though. It's a bit too restrictive for us. But we will use the self-laundry option about halfway through the cruise. We're going to be gone from home for 20 days! I don't think I even own that many changes of clothes and Mr Mac most certainly doesn't.
  18. Princess told me it was 90 days a few months ago. (I tried at 97 days and was Denied!) It was via email if people want to see it in writing.
  19. No. I'm one of those people and dh and I are discussing what we want to do but we are leaning towards Anytime Dining. I wouldn't be happy to just be moved to TD at 5:00.
  20. Also, if you go to the boards of other cruise lines, you see a lot of the same complaints. You don't even have to be an expert. Just read here and learn from other people's experiences. 🙂 Because finding a good TA is not straightforward and a bad one can be worse than none at all.
  21. I'm guessing that the staff would figure that out soon enough. At least I hope so because my goal on our upcoming cruise is to try every vodka martini they have. 🤣
  22. Canceling reservations should be a matter of selecting all the cruise bookings with MDR reservations and then updating the database to remove them. This is a simple script that can be written and tested in less than a day. It might actually be less work than doing it cruise by cruise. That said, from what I have seen of Princess IT, I have no expectation that canceling our reservations won't be a total mess. 🤣
