lorri111 Posted January 10 #1 Share Posted January 10 Is there free wifi now at Sydney Cruise terminal (I know there wasn't a couple of years ago) - hoping to use it rather than my minimal data on my phone when I check in and have to show digital boarding pass in Princess Medallion
Rare Jean C Posted January 11 #2 Share Posted January 11 I'm interested in the reply - especially since using the Princess Medallion to board needs wifi (unless you take screen shots of the relevant pages)
Colin 2905 Posted January 11 #3 Share Posted January 11 If not already answered by the 3rd of February (for the Overseas Passenger Terminal), I'll try to remember to check it out when we're they're for the day on our upcoming (and first, actually) cruise.

Rare OzKiwiJJ Posted January 11 #6 Share Posted January 11 Just screenshot it. It's much easier to just open a screenshot than to try to get the idiotic Princess app to co-operate.
Rare MicCanberra Posted January 11 #7 Share Posted January 11 https://www.sydneymovingguide.com/where-to-find-free-wifi/ There is free wifi at several locations by the Quay. Just remember, nothing is truly free, you will get spam emails from using so called free wifi.

Everything is already in their system. Edited January 11 by gbenjo

Rare MicCanberra Posted January 11 #10 Share Posted January 11 We usually have screen shots and paperwork as backup for overseas trips, but we are normally fine in Australia. Our phone plans have pretty good coverage all over Australia.
Rare cruiser3775 Posted January 14 #11 Share Posted January 14 There is no wifi at the actual terminal, but if you walk down to Circular Quay, there is wifi there. You can sit with a cup of coffee at any of the restaurants and use the free wifi.
Rare arxcards Posted January 15 #12 Share Posted January 15 The OP would like WI-FI in the terminal for check-in, so no to be using mobile data. As Julie has mentioned above, just take a screen shot of your boarding pass. Open the image from your gallery and they can scan that for a quick check-in. Works a treat,
Rare MicCanberra Posted January 15 #13 Share Posted January 15 Your names also work.

Yes, I did know that, but thought the info on free wifi at Circular Quay might be useful for others.
BuzzBuzzen Posted January 16 #15 Share Posted January 16 Just wondering, if you have a ship's wifi package , would this extend coverage to into the terminal ? Cheers, Buzz.

Cheers, Buzz. You don't need an internet package to connect the app to the ship wi-fi. I could get the ships' wifi signal in the terminal, but it wouldn't let me log-in to their network until after we had checked-in.
