Vixen Hole

We will be arriving at Coxen Hole in March on the Enchantment ots. We are interested in some local shopping and a few drinks.  Is this possible without leaving the port area and facing the gauntlet of local tour operators?

Thanks in advance

There are a few shops and I think a place or two to get a drink there.  It's not a big place like Cozumel or Costa Maya.  There is a small map of the port area on this web page.  I hope that helps some.

Actually the port has expanded a lot. 2 stories. Kiosks and shops with usual merch.  Several bars and places to eat .  There are a couple of spots just outside the port complex to your right toward the dock with the ferry to Maya Key.  To your left about 1/4 mile is Captain Jack's and there's another place with a zip line supposedly connected to the port. These are local so don't expect resort type atmosphere.

+1 Captain Jacks, which is our go to bar. Unfortunately the port renovations seem to have come to a standstill from what I have seen so not sure how scenic it is now as it has been a while since we were there.

There are a couple to the right also but we haven’t tried them and you would probably have to weave through more tour operators that way.

(@crewsweeper don’t you mean the old ferry to Maya Key?)

You can stay within the port area but not sure there is too much authentic shopping.
