Thanks My recollection is no road access so no parking lot and therefore no taxis...access only by South Shore Park walking path from Horseshoe Bay or Warwick Long Bay and no facilities.

Yes...I think of that as a Warwick Long Bay parking lot, but it also serves as parking for Jobson's Cove. 1

I remember out taxi dropped us off feet from the beach. That is basically the parking lot for the west end of Warwick long Bay. Taxis don't hang out there because thereare no facilities. You could luck out and catch a taxi dropping off but you could also be waiting a long time. Irregularly there is a concession set up in that area. Who knows about this season, none can't say yet. Sometimes there has been a porta potty. I have also seen a porta potty near the next beach to the west. Porta potties are portable so they do get moved. I usually get dropped of nat Warwick and walk the beach and beach trails to Horseshoe. The only thing consistent is that Horseshoe has facilities and plenty of transit options..

peggy1 Posted June 30 #7 Share Posted June 30 How would you set up a time for taxi pick up in Bermuda? I love Jobson's Cove but the walk up from the parking lot is a killer. We'd take the shuttle from the Dockyard to get there but would like to take a cab to Horseshoe Bay which isn't that far. Thanks if you've had experience with HITCH and would share your experience

Thanks if you've had experience with HITCH and would share your experience You don’t need Hitch to take a taxi to Horseshoe Bay or Jobsons Cove. There is a dispatch person at the Dockyard. You also don’t need Hitch to get a taxi at Horseshoe. Jobsons however unless you walk to Horseshoe is where you might use Hitch as there are rarely taxis around the parking area there. It’s not uphill. But because there are no amenities if a driver drops off they don’t stick around. They drive to Horseshoe and wait for customers there. I have the Hitch app but never used it. It’s not like Uber or Lyft where their drivers mostly have to pick you up. The Hitch drivers are driving regular taxis, is a taxi dispatch app so the drivers can ignore ride requests in the app and have sometimes been known to do so. peggy1 Posted July 5 #9 Share Posted July 5 Is there a Taxi Dispatcher at the Dockyard? We are going to Warwick Long Bay/Jobson Cover by shuttle but could the dispatcher at dockyard accept a request to be picked up at Long Bay for a trip back to Dockyard? We've walked up the steep driveway from the parking area at LB but after surgery recently it wouldn't be a good idea. I remember seeing what I thought might be a taxi dispatcher while getting off Celebrity cruise a couple of years ago. Thank you for any info you have. Thanks There is a taxi dispatcher at the Dockyard but I don’t think you can depend on a pickup that they arrange. They seem to be mainly getting taxis on the spot. If they do arrange a pickup I suggest using the Hitch Bermuda taxi app or phone the taxi dispatch as a backup. I don’t consider the driveway to the parking area at Warwick to be steep but I guess that is from my perspective. It is nothing like the driveway at Horseshoe and at Elbow. richg35 Posted July 9 #11 Share Posted July 9 I have been to Bermuda 4-5 times and if we take a cab somewhere we arrange a pickup time with the driver. It has never been an issue. They can go off and take other fares and then have a guaranteed fare at a specific time so it makes sense for them.
