Couple of questions about the casino on the Horizon:

 

1 Is smoking still permitted?

2 What are the typical minimum bets? I'm not a big gambler but like a bet at roulette now and again. Also, I've never played at the dice table so wouldn't mind giving that a try. Do they have "beginners" lessons?

They don't do lessons. If your state allows it, you can play online for free at stake.us.

 

Yes smoking is allowed at certain tables or slots while actively playing. The casino is not a smoking lounge - you're only allowed to smoke when playing.

A long time ago (like 24 cruises ago😉) I seem to remember on Embarkation, a time to "get lessons on how to play" in the casino before we departed port.  I haven't seen that available for years.  Anyone else remember this?

Just got off the Horizon a couple of weeks ago. The casino is very smokey. You can smell the smoke even when the casino is closed. People will put $5 in the machines and sit there looking like they are playing and no one bothers them. Getting a drink is a very long experience most times. There is not a bar. It was removed.

As for the table games. Most games begin with a minimum bet of $10. There are 2 roulette tables and 1 craps table. The craps table is always busy. Sometimes I had to wait around 45 minutes to get a spot.

Thanks, I probably won't bother then. I can't stand the smell of smoke, I don't like waiting for drinks and I don't bet big! Maybe casinos aren't for me!
