LeeNYC Posted March 17 #1 Share Posted March 17 I wanted to ask if the clothes steamer that Virgin provides in the stateroom is decent quality or not. Thank you.
1025cruise Posted March 17 #2 Share Posted March 17 I don't recall there being a steamer in my stateroom, nor do I recall if there was one available for guest use.
kaysha2004 Posted March 18 #3 Share Posted March 18 There are no steamers in the rooms. They are a fire hazard, which is why you can't bring your own on board. They have full laundry and pressing service available.
neverendingcruising Posted March 18 #4 Share Posted March 18 You can request a steamer from your cabin host, I don't recall the brand but it worked fine.

Rare CruisingWalter Posted March 19 #6 Share Posted March 19 We bring a Wrinkle Relaxer onboard now. Works fantastic. Spray the clothes, hang them up, hit them again if you have some stubborn wrinkles.
LeeNYC Posted March 20 Author #7 Share Posted March 20 Thanks for the replies and advice. The ship provides them on-request and has added that note to our stateroom.
fsdorado Posted March 20 #8 Share Posted March 20 We were able to borrow a steamer a couple of weeks ago on Valiant Lady. It wasn't in the best shape. Many of the nozzles were clogged with calcium deposits. We were able to use a pin to clear enough of them to make it work. We just used the Virgin app to make the request and our cabin steward dropped it off less than 10 minutes later. Frederick
Cloud9 Bob Posted March 21 #9 Share Posted March 21 This is good to know...and to think all this time I was paying an employee to hang my dinner pants in the engine room!
britincanada Posted April 10 #10 Share Posted April 10 I requested a steamer on our Nov 2023 voyage - it was brought to our cabin & had a note on it that it was available to us for 2 hours. Seems fair as they wouldn't have enough for people to keep them in their cabins for the entire cruise. I was easily able to steam the wrinkles from the items that needed refreshing. admranger Posted April 16 #11 Share Posted April 16 (edited) I just hang clothes via a magnetic hook to hold the hanger in the bathroom. Set shower to high. Close bathroom door. Set timer for 10 minutes. Steam activated. Edited April 16 by admranger

That's what I have done in the past and then a quick hit with wrinkle release spray and things are good.
