kacurl Posted April 9 #1 Share Posted April 9 We are here from 9 to 6 and wanted to see both of these places before coming back and walking around. The cathedral would be where we spend the most time. Would the bus to the falls work then maybe Uber to the cathedral? How long a drive is it to the cathedral from the falls and then back to the port? Thank you
Rare martincath Posted April 14 #2 Share Posted April 14 (edited) Hopefully you'll get some QC locals responding to your questions - but for general logistics like this nothing much has changed since my last visit! You could manage to use transit both there and back, but you'd save significant time driving - it's almost an hour from the falls to the cathedral by bus, vs. <20mins driving if traffic isn't too bad. Google maps is your friend for any other such route planning. Edit - from your other car rental question, not sure if you meant the downtown Cathedral (Notre-dame) or St Anne's in this question... if it's the latter, you definitely want to rent a car as transit won't get you there at all... kacurl Posted April 14 Author #3 Share Posted April 14 Thanks for reply. Yes, looking at St Anne's!!
TMLAalum Posted April 15 #4 Share Posted April 15 Google St Anne de Beaupre & Falls tours. There seem to be several half-day options that take you to both the church and Montmorency Falls by bus.

Personally I would just Uber the whole thing-- why wait around for the bus? From the center of Quebec City it's about a $63 Uber to the Basilica (so really around $45 US) and then you could just break the ride up on the way back stopping at the Falls (or vice versa, it doesn't really matter). But it shouldn't cost more than $100 US round trip regardless of which leg you stop at the Falls at. Taking an Uber for everything here could save you upwards of an hour waiting for a bus which will give you more time to tour the city on your return. The Falls are only about 10-15 minutes outside of town so roughly half way (travel time wise) to St Annes.

(Used to be called the Old Quebec Tours). It goes from 10:30 am - 3pm. Our ship is in Quebec City for 2 days. On embarkation day (the first in Quebec City) you can board the ship at about noon. Would it be better to do the tour on the day before the Cruise or on Day 1 or on Day 2 when the ship is in port?

We did the excursion through the ship on the day the ship was in port (we were in port overnight and cruise ended the next day. If it were me I would do it the day before the cruise or day 2 while in port. Day 1 for me is usually a flurry of activity exploring the ship, getting settled in, updating dinner/show reservations etc. I hope you have a great trip!
McFins Posted June 4 #9 Share Posted June 4 However if on day 2 your ship is leaving Quebec City and won’t be there overnight…be certain to check the time you need to be onboard since your excursion isn’t booked through the ship…just in case there’s a delay. In that case I may go on the excursion the day before or Day
