Like a sea day?

Recommended Posts

On round-trip Alaska cruises out of Seattle, they make a very brief, required stop in Victoria on the last night.  On the cruise I’m taking, it’s from 7:00 PM to 11:59 PM.  My question is do they treat the day like a port day, because it is one?  Or do they treat it more like a sea day because you’re at sea most of the day?  Like, for example, is there MDR lunch on that day?

The casino will be closed and only 1 bar per deck will be open. Lunch probably ok in MDR

It will be more like a sea day and they will have lunch available in the MDR and activities scheduled for the day.  Depending on where they are coming from, the casino and shops could be closed all day, though.

Really?  Casino closed all day?!  That hadn’t even occurred to me!  I just figured it would close when we got close to port.  So I guess it’s important to cash out on the second to last night!

It is a very short, required, port to satisfy PSVA.  I am surprised that Canada has not made it mandatory that they stay longer ($$$$) like Ensenada, Mexico did.  It might be just too long a trek from the previous port in Alaska to make to to Victoria earlier.  It's only used for ships that do round trips out of Seattle.  Not required for ships that sail in/out of Vancouver.

Yes, cash out of casino as soon as you leave your last Alaskan port.  Casino will be closed in/around Victoria and Canada.
