Avis Shuttle post cruise

Posted (edited)

Has anyone had the Avis shuttle collect them from the cruise terminal at Port Everglades after their cruise to go and pickup a rental car. Is it easy to find the pickup point and are the shuttles frequent or would I need to call Avis and request a driver to be sent. We're sailing on Celebrity Beyond but not sure which terminal we will be at.

Used Avis 2520 Miami Road this past December. Drop off and shuttle was fine Dec. 12. Pickup yesterday Dec 22 from Azamara Onward didnt go well. Phone recordings said shuttles are every 20-30 min. None of the local numbers were answered.

After an hour and ten min with no shuttle. Had to taxi over to Counter. Informed counter of no pick up and no offer of discount/cab fare. Car only had 3/4 of tank of fuel so had to go back in to inform and screw around while filling up to get the 3/4 tank. Uber/Taxi to FLL(airport) to pick up from National would have been a much faster, easier, and a bit cheaper choice.

Reviews from other sites show mixed reviews. If you have time to spare go for it.

There must be a location besides Miami Rd ???

This is the closest location just outside the PE terminal gate.

This one has a comp shuttle.

Of course there's one at FLL but then you have to arrange your own transportation to get there.

Where?

2520 Miami Road, Fort Lauderdale. As I said, near the entrance to the PE terminal gate.

Google it.

There is no free shuttle service from Port Everglades over to the Fort Lauderdale/ Hollywood Airport Rental Car Center. That free service was discontinued at the beginning of the Covid Pandemic and never resumed. Same thing goes for travel from FLL over to Port Everglades. A cab runs you approximately twenty dollars plus tip for the short fifteen minute ride.

We used Avis pre and post cruise several times. Rented from the airport and dropped off at the location nearest to port. Shuttle to the ship was cramped but it's a short ride.

Got the shuttle post cruise and our car was ready when we got to the same location.
