Eurodam total change schedule 11/17/2024 - Western to Southern

Just received notice from HAL of schedule change for our November 17 - 27, 2024 cruise.  Previously Western(Cozumel, Belize, Grand Cayman, Jamaica). Now Southern to ABC islands.  Wow.  Really a total change of itinerary.  Unfortunately, and I love the ABC's, we already have cruise to Southern scheduled for Nov 2025.  Really wanted to go to Western on this voyage.  Wonder why such a drastic change only 6 months ahead??  Looking at schedule now to see what I want to do.

That sure is drastic!  Can you switch to a different Western cruise?

We have just about had it with Holland America, and we told them exactly that on the phone a few minutes ago while we were cancelling this cruise. Like a lot of other people, we have been to ABC islands several times. This cruise offered Belize and Jamaica, which we had never been to. We finally reached 5-Star status on HAL ... just before covid. Haven’t been able to enjoy the status since then.

 

And don’t you just love the wording in the email we got: “to enhance the guest experience, we have made adjustments....” Yes indeed. Our experience was enhanced right out the porthole.

I thought little bit drastic. Tried looking at other Westerns now see if want to take Southern ABCs this year(change comes with extra $100 OBC) and change next year cruise or what.  They said call them for all options but I want to see what available first.  Anyway, their schedule is not updated yet and still shows Eurodam doing Western.

And, yes did notice the enhance guest experience note.  Pretty funny. With this cruise we would become 4 Star.  Pretty sure we won't make it to 5.  This was to be first cruise for us since last summer when cruised to Alaska.  Unfortunately I got COVID and Flu on board ended up in hospital in AK and again at home and tested positive 7 full weeks.  Just finally feeling strong enough to try a cruise this fall. Hopefully this is not a bad sign.

Oh dear.  Best wishes for a healthy year and that you can switch cruises to your satisfaction!  HAL should be bending over backwards to help the people who want to change after a complete itinerary change like they just did!!  Let us know how it works out!    ~Nancy

Did HAL change the itinerary and the dates ?

Dates the same.  Just totally changed itinerary from Western Caribbean to Southern- ABC islands.  Eurodam has several Western sailings still showing online(including ours) so will wait and see if those change also in next few days then figure out what we want to do.

We are booked in January and they did the opposite - cancelled the ABC and substituted western.

Got the email as well.     
We were excited about the somewhat different Western itinerary so disappointed about the change.
We have flights already booked so will take the $100 credit and enjoy this cruise regardless.

Well maybe we can take the January Western then.  Will check on that when they get the schedule updated.  We in FL only few hours from FLL so no flights to change or anything.
