Walking to Port Everglades

If my hotel is close enough and I want to walk to the port, will I be allowed to? Or will security only allow cars through?

Walking into the port is not usually an issue at the Eisenhower Avenue entrance, from a security perspective.

 

The entrance is not exactly pedestrian friendly. There is ALOT of traffic, and drivers are not especially attentive.

 

Be very aware it can be a LONG walk from the port entrance to your ship, and Florida heat and humidity can come into play.

Unless your ship is sailing out of Terminal 2/4, don't plan on walking. The port is not walker friendly.

We stay at the Holiday Inn Express on 17th and always walk to terminal two. It is a less than a10 min walk with sidewalks the whole way.

We are staying this coming Sat, and Sun, at Hyatt Place for a Monday Cruise on Emerald Princess. No way in hell am I walking in 90 degrees heat 1/2 a mile to terminal 2 pulling a suit case to save $20. I walk 3 miles a day for exercise. If there was no luggage, then a walk would be just fine.

We just stayed at HI Express too. it was just a $9 cab fare to our Celebrity Ship (Pier 20-something, I forget..) Would NOT recommend walking there!with or without luggage🤓
