No New Cruise Terminal for Charleston

Will this be the end of cruises from Charleston when Carnival leaves the current terminal?

Yes. I believe this had already been announced. Charleston doesn't want cruises.

The fact is that many towns/cities which are attractive in themselves have little interest in attracting cruise passengers - who rarely contribute to the local economy.

I believe from the article that South Carolina doesn't want cruises. It sounded like Charleston was interested but considered it irrelevant with the state law.
