Best route to avoid traffic to Galveston port parking?

Recommended Posts

We take 33rd street into the port area.  Follow the railroad tracks directly into the parking lot.  It is a short walk to the terminal.  We usually park and then roll our bags the short distance to the terminal.  We exit the area the same way - avoids all the traffic.

Two routes:

Exit Harborside Dr off of Hwy 45S (end of causeawy) to 14th St, turn left into port

Stay on Hwy 45S (turns into Broadway) left on 14th St into port.

I live on the Island (IBC). First exit off causeway is Harborside. Be careful as exit lane starts on causeway. Take a left on Harborside. After about 5 minutes you will get to Carnival, Disney, Princess and NCL terminals (24 th st). If Royal continue on Harborside until you hit Royal Terminal, about another 5 minutes.

We leave in the morning for our cruise on Sunday.  Staying in the Woodlands overnight and on to Galveston Sunday a.m.   Is there flooding in Galveston......will we have problems getting to the port on Sunday?

Thanks again for your help.

I really hate the media when they come on with their hair on fire when the "flooding" didn't even cover their ankles. Come on down, the sun is out!!

How bad are the results of Hurricane Beryl in Galveston? Is there flooding, if so where?

The island  drains fast . However there are power outages.
