Are you considering plans to offer more attractive fares for solo cruisers at all levels?
Perhaps you could balance out the fare difference by charging for all passengers, including any child that is ambulatory and who can be left without supervision.

There are times when unsupervised children can get out of control, especially when they are running on sugar highs, are screaming and racing past people who are impaired and/or on walkers or other assistive devises. Having a specific document for Code of Conduct for Responsible Parties and enforcing rules, fines, and penalties, as you would for unruly adult passengers, might help reduce some of the disturbing and dangerous incidents which many are witness to.

Piggy-backing on this... Yes, there was a reduction in the solo supplement recently, however, it does not appear that that was applied retroactively to all sailings. I feel that in the case where the solo supplement is uniformly reduced, all cruises booked with the higher supplement should be automatically repriced to the new supplement and should not require a call either from us or from our travel agent.

In relationship to the recent status match between Celebrity and RCCL (Thank you!); will Celebrity establish something similar to the DP340 solo discount that exists on RCCL?

On this topic, I'd like to ask them why Celebrity should be considered by solo passengers now that they're adding additional charges over and above paying for double occupancy.

I get - don't like, but get - why solos are charged more for booking a cabin as a solo. But WHY if we wanted to opt for the AI package are we charged for 2 beverage packages and 2 wifi packages (and used to be charged double for gratuities)?? Why can the algorithm not reduce that amount by half since we're only using one beverage package and one wifi package?

What incentives are you offering solo cruisers now that Celebrity is charging them up to triple the per person price to book a cabin. Or does Celebrity prefer not to have solo guests on their ships? The marketing emphasis seems to be couples only desired.

Thank you for your feedback. In our double occupancy rooms, we welcome single travelers, and add a supplement for the unused occupancy. At times, that supplement is discounted versus the standard fare for doubles.

Our guests are our priority and when rules aren’t enforced, our team is trained to address the guests privately, so we don’t interrupt other guests.

So what is up with Edge-class sailings with plenty of availability in cabins relegating solo cruisers to only the Solo IV or Retreat?? Every Beyond sailing August 2025 has that restriction. But if you look for 2 guests there are plenty of staterooms available in all categories.

In my solo travel experience with Celebrity Suite class, I am charged for double occupancy, minus the tax and gratuity for the second passenger. That seems logical but I do not consider that a discount or an incentive.
Is there something else that I have missed in booking my solo suite class cabins?  Can’t you come up with a solo rate like other cruise lines?

This really doesn't address why it is often more than double the cost.  Why are sales not applied to the solo customers?  For example, 75% off the second guest isn't applied to the solo customer, so the total cost to the solo customer is significantly more than what they would pay if they brought somebody with them.

I'm not banking her answering if she thinks she's a market leader in charging solo passengers a supplement that exceeds the double occupancy price, or if she's hoping that becomes an industry wide practice.

Solo cruise fare fluctuations and variations are totally ridiculous and she once again gave a non answer to an easy question!

IMO as long as we sail on any age cruise, the parents who don’t mind their children will always be there.  I never blame the children, it is the parents job to ensure they behave.  Same with the solarium, it’s the captain’s call.  Thus we have the option of 18+ only cruises.  If we decide not to avail ourselves to those cruises, we deal with our decision.

The Bean Counters know that charging a Solo Guest Double for the pleasure of a normal stateroom does Not make up for the Missing Profit that will be missing from the Onboard Spending, Shore Excursions, Specialty Dining and Casino Profits that that missing guest will not be generating.

They do not care about that with a missing Retreat guest because the basic fare is so high.

About 70 percent of my Cruises are Solo and more and more I look for TA's and relocation cruises that may have a lot of Sea Days (I love Sea Days!) because they mostly have lower single guest surcharges.  I always book Cruise Only + tips.

Also the older ships (That I Like) usually have lower cost than newer ships.

I am trying other cruise lines with more friendly Solo prices but so far I have not found any I like More than X and it is  still my cruise line of choice with 12 future cruises booked.  That is easy with the Onboard $100 deposit for pay the deposit Now and choose a cruise later option. If I change my mind before the final payment date no big deal.

My costs are sometimes bigger for the Flights to Far off places  than the Cruise.
