elaine5 Posted Monday at 03:08 AM #76 Share Posted Monday at 03:08 AM To OP, I recall being somewhat stressed (and unnecessarily packing extra clothing) based upon a similar thread on CC before our cruise last year. It seems like you will pack appropriate attire. Have a good cruise!

While a number do wear tuxes and ladies in ball gown, many do not. Any suit (not just dark) and tie on gala/formal night is fine. Or even trousers and blazer, just add a tie for dinner and take it off later. I did not see anyone last summer in jeans for dinner, but if other poster did, then that must be fine now. Worst case, you need to wear in trousers instead. We enjoyed Cunard and did not find it “stuffy” at all. You’ll find it similar to Princess. It obviously varies from cruise to cruise and ship to ship. On my cruise this year on QA nearly all the men wore DJs for formal nights.

Well it certainly would be for me. I’m female. 😀
Rare Victoria2 Posted Monday at 06:46 AM #79 Share Posted Monday at 06:46 AM Final advice to ernnnn . Most/all the folk you'll meet onboard will not be evaluating your sense of dress and if they are, they won't be 'advising' you of their opinions. The Maître 'd might/might not though, we don't know as it seems very ad hoc as to jeans/polo worn in MDR for dinner and so could I suggest you pack a more conventional shirt and a pair of chinos as a fall back and you can decide once onboard which you think appropriate. Whatever you decide, if you go ahead and I hope you do, have a wonderful holiday and please come back and tell us all about your experiences.

We finally went ahead and made the reservation for a 21 days cruise next summer. I will carry some trousers , shirts and polos to wear on casual nights, and a suit for gala nights. I will not be that one everyone will will pointing to, just one of the rest there 😄. Edited Monday at 07:51 AM by ernnnn
