Elation Ready to Sail

The question now is will she sail close to 4:00... Since it wasn't a major overhaul in dry dock everything should work out fine - we hope :). With any luck someone will post a "live from the Elation" thread to give us some information. 7 days and counting (I'm going to include the day at the Radisson pool :p )

So I'm doing what I can to avoid grading papers today - but is that a green patch on the sports deck? Mini-golf maybe?

Why do you so no major overhaul, to my understanding it had the same type work as Sensation, Holiday and the others that just came out of drydock.

14 days for us and we will be in Miami waiting to get on as you get off! Just read about Fantasy not being able to tender at Half Moon on either cruise. Lets hope we have some better luck. Hope someone posts live so we can get the scoop!

That's a really good question!! I don't know what to expect. I've seen "press releases" and announcments with the other ships about what they were doing with them. I would think that if they did some of the major changes with the Elation they would have included that in the announcements. I think they also stayed in drydock longer. I've gotten mixed messages about what was done. Based on that I'm planning on not much so I'll be pleasantly surprised if its there!

zqvol, you're thinking of the Ecstasy. Elation was only in for a 2 week standard drydock, which was originally scheduled for January but had to be changed due to the FEMA contracts with the other ships.

Not that I wouldn't enjoy a little mini-golf.

I bet the passengers aren't too elated to still be sitting in port at 5:45 when they were supposed to sail at 4:00. Wonder what's going on??? My friend is onboard with her family and some friends. She called awhile ago and didn't know why they didn't sail earlier but they were still loading some luggage about an hour ago.

As I recall without looking at the itenariry (darn I can never spell that word) they are only going to HMC tonight which is about a 5 to 7 hour sail. They can hang around until after midnight and get there in plenty of time. (You posted about the 7:22 sail away as I was typing. If they are only going to Nassau they could be there by midnight if they needed to it is less than 100 miles.)

Now I will admit that the casino and duty free shops are not open while they sit in Miami, but that should not be a big deal.

We have crusied on a small ship a number of times and the cabin would often stay in port late becasue he felt like it might be rough and wanted everyone to have dinner before we started bobbing around. We alwasy made it to the next POC on time and I think that is what matters.

BTW thanks on the drydock info, I thought that all of them had only been in dry dock for about two weeks.
