Princess & Grenada

Hi all

 

Does anyone have any recent (within the past 1-2 months) experience on cruising a Princess ship to Grenada? What I am specifically wondering about is whether you docked or whether you had to tender?

 

Our boarding pass for January says we will be tendering but I've been told Grenada has a new dock ready and from a few sites also read we are the only ship in port that day (yes, I know port calendar sites aren't always reliable, but I've checked both Grenada and cruisecal so what else can I do?) :)

Not recent; but this "new dock" was completed when we were there in March 05 and is very nice. There was also room for another ship as well. I don't know why your documents would read "tender":confused:

Also interested in finding this out. It will make a difference in deciding what we will have time to do here. If tendering afraid we might only be able to find a t-shirt before we have to head back.

We are also going to be on that sailing!!! We were thinking of making that our "stay on board while in port day". Can't wait!!

We were there this past March on the Golden. Our tickets also said we were to tender but we did dock. However, a friend who was on the week before us did tender as there were other ships in port the same day. We were the only ship the day were were there. I guess it will depend on if there are other ships or not.

We were there on the Golden in Nov 2004, Feb. 2005, and again on the Sun Feb 2006. We docked all of those times. Nice new pier. Hope we still dock. I guess we could follow this itinerary on the webcam to see what the Crown is doing now.

Our upcoming cruise has "possible tender" on the documents. It probably has to do with wind/weather reports and/or other ships in port.

LOL, possible tender! At least that's honesty. :)

 

I think the new Crown itinerary hits Grenada this week or possibly the week of the 25th. That would be a good test as indicated by another poster.

 

Of course, it will depend on the number of ships in port - anyone know of sites other than the Grenada tourist site and the cruisecal?
