Which wrap for this dress?

I bought this dress for our upcoming cruise (June 1st to Alaska)

 

 

I want to buy some sort of wrap for it. Which of these would look best? I also plan to wear this to a wedding so keep that in mind too.

I vote for the shawl... that'd be really pretty. It's thin enough that it wouldn't overpower the strapless dress like the sweater thing would... that would look like two "seasons" of clothes, IMO.

I also don't get the whole "shrug" thing. I realize they're in fashion but they look like folks dried them on the wrong cycle and are just trying to keep their boobs warm!

For a dressier occasion I would go with the shawl.

 

I have a few shrugs and love them. Sometimes I just have to try them on with things to see how it looks.

I would go with the shawl. I have shawls tied in the back that gives the illusion of a shrug.

Without even getting down to your two options, I was thinking of a black sheer shawl! The embroidery on the dress is too pretty to cover up with something opaque!

I second this opinion about the shawl. I have some shrugs but I use them for more casual outfits. :D

I like the look of the shawl better, especially for a wedding, but, if you're like me, I simply can't keep a shawl actually up and around my shoulders. Maybe I am slope-shouldered or have poor posture, or something.

 

If you have this problem and are wanting the wrap to actually stay warm, I'd go with the shrug. It does make the dress look more casual though. If keeping the shawl up is no problem, it looks much dressier.

I've seen ladies tie their shawl from behind and it looks like a wrap, maybe that might be a thought????

My opinion is going to differ.

 

Personally, I think the chiffon shawl is too dressy for the cotton dress. I think the shrug is much more appropriate or get the shawl is a less dressy fabric.

I like the shawl but absolutley I have the same problem as a previous poster... I can just never keep them on my shoulders!.. Does anyone have any tips?

 

BTW was that dress from the Balck and White site? I love the dress.

Another vote for the shawl!

 

I love the dress, and it's definitely more of a "young" look. The style of the shrug mateches that. I think the shawl is way too matronly for the dress.
