How early can I arrive at the Miami pier for the Majesty?

Recommended Posts

I'll be cruising the Majesty out of Miami on May 28th. I'll have a rental car which I plan to drop off at the AVIS location a few miles from the pier. I need to have the rental back by about 10:30 am in order not to get charged an extra day and would like to drop a couple of friends off at the pier with our luggage on the way to the rental office. Is this too early to get to the pier? Will I be allowed to arrive and drop off that early? I know this is too early to board but don't mind waiting for awhile and getting on the ship once they open up. Just want to be sure I can get to the pier that early as this is the first time I've cruised out of Miami. Thanks.

It's not too early. By the time you actually return the car, get a cab, and arrive at the pier, you should be able to board, if not right away, very soon after! This is day 1 of the cruise--you've paid for it--USE it!

We've been getting to the pier about 10:45 lately. We got there at 10:30 when we sailed on Navigator out of Miami last year and we were onboard by 11:30. We were onboard Sovererign a few weeks before 11:00 AM, but that was Port Canaveral, which is usually a little better organized than Miami.

We are sailing on Freedom out of Miami in July and we plan on getting there around 10:30 or 10:45, our flight gets into Lauderdale at 9:30, so we will just get our luggage and be on our way to the Port of Miami.
