Hi Deenie,

Congrats on your upcoming wedding! We are also planning a honeymoon cruise aboard the Legend. We booked a Category 11 suite on the back of ship based on some wonderful recommendations from this message board. Fiance was dying to try out a cabin on the back of the ship to check out the views from the big balcony! :)

My husband and I will be sailing on the Legend September 30th, and have booked cave tubing in Belize through an independent company. When I made my reservation, they said to take the early tender off the ship. Does anyone who has sailed on the Legend know how early I need to get in line for the early tender?

Thanks in advance!

I was on the Legend 6/10. We also booked cave tubing independently (through cavetubing.com). The first tenders start about 8:00. I think the ship makes it sound as if only the people that book Carnival excursions can get on the first tenders. This was not the case. We got to the main showroom about 8:45. A crew memeber is at the entrance checking your Carnival excursion tickets and giving out tender stickers. They told us to go up to the stage and show our reservation confirmation for an independent tour. The crew member up there gave us our tender stickers. Then they told us to have a seat. After a couple of minutes they called us along with the Carnival excursion people to be escorted to the tenders. By the time we met up with cavetubing.com we were on the third and last bus. So, lots of other people must have gotten on the early tenders. We waited around for other people to come off the ship. Since we were the last bus to leave we did not have time to stop for lunch. We made a quick snack stop instead, but we were back to the ship with about 45 minutes to spare.

So, the bottom line is that I would be at the theatre at 8:00 if I wanted to get on the first tender. But, you can wait until later like we did and still be fine.

Does anyone know which pier the ship docks at in Cozumel? I understand there is a difference of several miles between piers?............

Also, what is the opinions of using local currency (pesos or Belizian dollars) in each port vs. US dollars?..........

Recently the Legend has been using the International Pier. You can use the following site to check where a ship is docking in Cozumel, but it is only current for about a week or two:

http://www.cozumelinsider.com/Cruiseships

We've only used USD in all of the ports we have been to, including Belize. I don't see any advantage to using local currency, unless you're really getting off the beaten path where there are very few tourists, and I doubt that would be the case with a short cruise ship stop.

Please find out if they rent snorkel gear and how much if they do. I have asked twice on these boards and the same reply form the same poster says, "No." But snorkel gear is still listed in the rental items list on the Carnival website.

We are going it alone in a couple of places so will not have access to snorkel gear provided on excursions. Since we only need it twice, I hesitate to buy unless the rental cost is prohibitive or Carnival Legend does not rent snorkel gear.

Thanks.

I've looked at photos and threads about the ship and can't seem to find anything about a track or mini golf....are those 2 items not on the Spirit class ships? I really looked forward to walking the track on my past cruise (although I'm sure I can make do in the gym).

I remember a small track outside, we could see them run by while enjoying the supper club....... but there is no mini-golf

Try again........

Well, it depends who are asking of course.....Legend of Hockey, my guess would be:

Defensive-Bobby Orr

Offensive-Wayne Gretzky

...but I am a huge Mark Messier fan, and a Florida-girl who has only been watching hockey for 20 years.

Running track yes, mini golf, no. As you can see, we found the track, but we were having coffee and enjoying the view.

Hi! first post here. I am sailing on the Legend with my Grandmom on 9/30/07. We're really looking forward to it! I booked through Cruise.com and the room is a partially obstructed view on the main deck with french doors. I assume the view is obstructed by the life boats, but I was wondering if anyone had stayed in a room with french doors. Does that mean it's a little bigger? Or is it one regular door split in two? That's more of what i'm expecting.

Sailed for the first time on the Carnival Destiny in 11/06 and have been dying to cruise since. Thanks for all the great advice on the boards. I cannot wait to do the stingray city in Grand Cayman.

If anyone will be sailing on this cruise, let me know, I would love to meet some other Cruise Critics!

The cabin is the same size as a balcony without the balcony. The view is obstructed by the lifeboats...You can at least open the french doors...

I'll be sailing in one of these cabins next month! I don't think the room is any larger due to the doors and the view is definitely obstructed by lifeboats. I couldn't find any of the Legend, but here's a picture I found of the french doors in an obstructed view cabin of one of Legend's sister ships, the Pride.

When we booked the 5A cabins were the same price as an inside. I thought it would be nice to at least have a little natural light.

Welcome to cruise critic! Get ready to have a serious board addiction! There is so much good information here that it's hard to stop reading!! Have a great cruise!

Thanks Matt and Kelli for the info...I didn't really care about the mini golf but wanted to be able to run (okay, jog:o ) around the track.

One more (non-Legend specific) question....

We cruised on the Fantasy last year and rearranged who was in what cabin, but I can't remember if we did it at check in or later. I just want to ensure that our sign and sail cards accurately reflect the correct room. Right now we've got me in with one of our children, and my husband in with another (we both are entitled to past guest or military discounts and they are not) and we plan on putting the boys in together (they're 16 and 17 and will be across the hall from us). When should we take care of that?

Thanks for the info and the photos Cruisbie, that looks nice, we'll have some light and it will seem like we have a balcony. It was the same price as the interior cabin so it seemed worth it! I am addicted to the boards already, I wish I had known about them before my first cruise!
