Live from the gloy cabin 72315

Well we should have been on the open sea yet we are still here in port. We have done the muster drill and do not know why we have not left yet.

I hope they can make up the time and get us to our 1st port .

I must say I am very pleased with this cat 12 cabin .

The bathroom is huge .

Getting on board was not bad . We took the shuttle from the rad and had a 5 min wait to go threw the screening then right upsatirs to the vip check in a few mins filling out forms and we where on our way to the ship .

We got walked past all the lines and taken right on board . We where able to drop off our things in the room and then up to the lido deck to eat .

We carryed on 3 12 packs of coke and no problems as we have 3 cabins and 8 people.

Now if the ship would just leave port before dinner time :)

 

Well will post more as we get time . I only bought 55 mins of internet time and will try to use it wisely:)

Weather yesterday? A lot of flights were cancelled/delayed on the east coast casuing several people here in Cleveland to not make FLL last night, at least a few of them scheduled to be on the Verandah deck on the Glory =) They were flying out this morning but could not make FLL before :00pm. May be waiting?

As much as we'd love to see your pictures, you'll probably find it slow (and thereby expensive) to share them while on board. My experience is slooooow connection speed via their internet.

But have a great time! We'll be waiting for updates.. :)

Well here it is day 1 and we are to arrive in nassau at 830am this morning .

 

it is now 7:51 am and we are at n 25* 34.4210 w 77* 37.5100 doing 24 mph

 

Well yesterday was great even with leaving port late, they tried to say that we were late as they where waiting for one family .

 

while we think this is bull it is what we where told .

 

I made a mistake on our cabin in my first post it is cabin 7315.

 

I must also say that till now service was better on the fantasy last year .

 

Put our our card for coffee for the room last night and asked for between 6:45 and 7:15.

At 7:30 called and was told they did not get our card , guess someone was going around last night after 2am and taking them off doors:(.

 

have taken lots of pics but did not get one of wee jimmy. Boy that guy could make anyone laugh.

 

Well going to go find some coffee more later on today . As we do not have anything planed for nassau ,just going to do a island tour for some friends that are with us ,then spending some time at atlantis.

well just have to add that our friends who are in a cabin down the hall did not even have thier room service card picked up last night :(

 

going to have to make a call about this .

Just call room service when you wake up and they will be happy to bring your coffee and anything else on the room service menu. Much easier than filling out the card.

We went to Jetty Park (the last beach you see while on a cruise ship that is leaving from Canaveral) yesterday, and saw the GLory just sitting there at 6:30pm. We had expected to see it sail while we were still at the beach.

 

We thought maybe it was being held up due to some sort of airport/weather problem that was causing cruisers to be late. Can't beleive that it would be held up for just ONE family. That makes no sense.

Well just a quick update nassau was ok . We sis not get in till about 930 and left at around 3pm . We did not do much but but went to the straw market and went to atlantis.

 

While we where there we ran to to to folks who wher on RC and did not speak much english , Withthe dauther trying to fill in they joined us as we had a look around and drop a few $$ in the slots . we shared a ride back and after taken many photos of the middle age couple for them we exchanged address so we could mail them some that we had taken.

 

Well off to the formal dinner and still no word on when the past guest dinner will be :(

One more thing all the shows so far have been very enjoyable and worth seeing

I can't wait for the rest of your experience. I just returned about 3 weeks ago from the Eastern and also went to Atlantis. In St. Thomas, I went to Meagan's Bay and in St. Maarten, went to Orient Beach ( my personal favorite).

Well just got back from the formal dinner . I had the lobster and the prime rib both which where very very good tonight. I must say that 99.9% of the food has been on the very good level.

 

We got our past guest party invites tonight along with a very nice tote bag:)

 

Well I will have to write uncle bob about the service which while it has been good could be better.

 

Off too lose some money in the casino more later .

 

With the day at sea on sunday will try to shrink some of the photos and put on our web site for you folks to see.

Well folks its been a fun day here . Just back from the past guest party which was a lot of fun .

 

We now have our glory pins and got about 4 free drinks and some very nice snacks.

 

Today has been a bit of a rest day . We spent some time in the casino and enterd the slot tourney.

 

Wife made it to the to 11 but got knocked out at the last min but is still more the 500 up .

 

Big news is the teenage daughter (18) hit a $166.00 jackpot boy is she happy.

 

Well working on shrining some pictures now and will try to post tonight .

 

Having as lot of fun and boy let me tell you even the youngest is becoming a cruise crtic . She filled out a comment card all by her self and put it in the box near the pursher desk :)

 

She had a lot of fun in camp carnvial doing the build a bear , but she felt the pizza was bleow the quailty of the fantasy.

 

I have sent a email to uncle bob about some of the problems we have had on the ship and will see if he will answer while we are on board.

 

So any questions out there ?

 

This has been a great day at sea and having loads of fun .

 

Just hope that I have better luck in the casino tonight .

Don't Remember the time it was open but the Sushi Bar was located on the same deck as the Casino (I believe it's the promanade deck). It's located near the Carnival Vacation Club. I also enjoyed the Fish and Chips, but only got to eat there once.

Its near the casion and was told by the wife its very good fish and chip is I think deck 11 forward and very good also

I also must add before we head out for late severing of dinner that I wrote uncle bob about some problems we had with service here after paying close to $4500 for a cabin for 2 and would you belive the cabin steward and the purser both called and told us how sorry they where and that things would get better...

 

 

I have not recvied a replay from unle bob but all i can say is great service from a company that will get all my cruise biz from here on out ......

I actually read on another review that Wee Jimmy is getting off the ship the day that I get on which is next Saturday, June 23rd.. I am bummed but I wonder who is taking his place. Any idea OP??

I too am traveling on the Glory next saturday and would love to know who will be our Cruise director. Mark Price would be my dream come true...
