Mysticks1 Posted August 9, 2007 #2 Share Posted August 9, 2007 Yes - as defined by the print on the card. It states it is to be used only by the person whose name is on the card. The below is straight from the Carnival FAQ section. What is the Fountain Fun Card? We will offer to all guests the option to purchase a "Fountain Fun Card" which will allow them unlimited soft drinks for the duration of the cruise at a one time purchase price (including gratuities). The "Fountain Fun Card" can be purchased at the casino, lobby and pool bar onboard the ship. In all locations where beverage service is offered, guests may receive a glass of the soft drink of their choice - one glass will be served at a time and only to the guest whose name appears on the card. The card cannot be used through room service. NOTE: A 15% gratuity will automatically be added on at the time of purchase of the Fountain Fun Card. deborahjo Posted August 9, 2007 #3 Share Posted August 9, 2007 Yes I feel it is. But I have to admit we have shared before. Not for an entire cruise but yes we are guilty.

Kurbanfan Posted August 9, 2007 #6 Share Posted August 9, 2007 Here we go again:rolleyes: If you feel it is wrong then don't. Technically it says one glass will be served to the person who's name is on the card. After that you can take a bath in it , dump it out, wash your hair with it or god forbid share it if you want.:D
Podorama Posted August 9, 2007 Author #7 Share Posted August 9, 2007 OK, so why is it stealing, because of the fine print in the agreement? Hmmmm,,, so when I buy a soda card, Carnival has determined the cost by making a estimate of how much soda the average person will drink and marking such up, thus that is the price of the card. OK, so If I use LESS then the amount of soda they estimated I would use, do they owe me a refund?
Safetyal Posted August 9, 2007 #8 Share Posted August 9, 2007 Hmmm. Do we need to pull up a lounge chair and make some popcorn for this thread?
Tightlinerods Posted August 9, 2007 #9 Share Posted August 9, 2007 Hmmm. Do we need to pull up a lounge chair and make some popcorn for this thread? Just leave a towel on the chair while you go off and grow the Corn till harvest size then pop it for us... My wife took a sip out of my Soda one time so I made her go pay for the soda out of her sign and sail account!!!... john

Cruise_Monkey Posted August 9, 2007 #12 Share Posted August 9, 2007 Is sharing a soda card stealing? Yes. It's like you paid for two people in a cabin, but then "share" the cabin with a third person without them paying for it (assuming you could get the third person on board without a ticket, etc. This is really more of an example of concept than an actual idea...). You order room service for yourself, but "share" it with them, etc...

Sounds like you knew the answer YOU wanted to hear, and you are going to argue with anyone that doesn't tell you what you want to hear. So why post? The card is PER PERSON. Anything you do beyond that is on you... If you don't drink that much soda, DON'T GET THE CARD!! It really is that simple.

Maybe if you follow the spirit of Carnival's intentions, I'm sure they'd rather you didn't share, but in truth sharing is not forbiden by the terms of they're rules. SouthernCaribbean Posted August 9, 2007 #16 Share Posted August 9, 2007 You would be mistaken.... It's just a harmless little ol question. Well... call Carnival or ask the bartender when you buy the card and see what they tell you. That should answer your question.

I don't have any certain point of view I want to hear! Heck, I might get the card and never use it just to help out Carnivals bottom line! But what if, I do buy the card and never use it,(not even once, myself or anyone else) should they give me a refund for the cost of the card if I ask for such?? GoinCruisin Posted August 9, 2007 #23 Share Posted August 9, 2007 You seem to be obsessed with what is stealing and what isn't... not to mention the point you made in another post (below) is just silly... why are you so concerned?? If someone says "yes, you are stealing", how is it going to change what you plan to do? If someone says "no, it's not stealing, it's just cheap", do you care?? You keep referring to the word "stealing"... and I'm not sure why. Are you scared of going to jail?? What gives? Ok, back to the insipid point of view that taking booze on board is stealing..... Ok, I'll bite. So in that same vein of thought, if I take a photograph of anything, (friends and Family, GF, people at the table at dinner etc) a ship photogopher can take, thus not buying his product, I am stealing? Taking your own Pics or your own booze it is all the same, and NONE of it is stealing! By the way, taking pictures on vacation and bringing your own booze are 2 completely different things. Carnival doesn't prevent you from taking pictures  Taking pictures of the pictures they took, yes, that would be stealing...
sjohnson529 Posted August 9, 2007 #24 Share Posted August 9, 2007 Sure they'll give your money back. If you don't go to the shows, they'll refund you even more. If you don't use the dining room, you'll have a hunk of change coming back. And let's not even talk about skipping the port talks! Pretty soon you'll have enough saved up to buy another cruises, that you may or may not use.
GoinCruisin Posted August 9, 2007 #25 Share Posted August 9, 2007 Argue, not me! I just am asking a few little ol questions. I certabily don't have any certain point of view I want to hear! Heck, I might get the card and never use it just to help out Carnivals bottom line! But what if, I do buy the card and never use it,(not even once, myself or anyone else) should they give me a refund for the cost of the card if I ask for such?? Uh huh  If you buy the card and don't use it, that is your own fault... Carnival assumes that their passengers are smart enough only to buy things they are actually going to use. I know, that is an awfully hefty assumption...
