reallyitsmema Posted September 11, 2007 #2 Share Posted September 11, 2007 The best place by far for fried clams while in Boston is Kelly's Roast Beef in Revere. It is not near the pier at all but it is THE place for clams. They have been featured on the Food network and are considered a Boston institution. http://www.kellysroastbeef.com/main.html Union Oyster House would be the other place I would recommend and is near Faneuil Hall Marketplace. and is actually a national historic landmark. http://www.unionoysterhouse.com/
Renee2882 Posted September 11, 2007 #3 Share Posted September 11, 2007 In New London there is Captain Scott's Lobster Dock or Fred's Shanty (http://www.fredsshanty.com/). If you decide to head over to the Mystic area there's Abbott's Lobster in the Rough (http://www.abbotts-lobster.com/) or Sea Swirl (http://www.seaswirlofmystic.com/). These are all shacks but they all have great food. If you're looking for something that isn't so casual there's Schooner's Restaurant in NL or S&P Oyster (http://www.sp-oyster.com/) in Mystic. richbum Posted October 2, 2007 #5 Share Posted October 2, 2007 http://www.weststreetcafe.com/ Give this place a try when you are in Bar Harbor. Great food and right near the pier. Have a great trip.:D
MEcruzr Posted October 2, 2007 #6 Share Posted October 2, 2007 If you want good fried clams (or lobster!) while in Portland, go to D'Millo's. When you get off the ship, hang a left and walk down Commercial Street. You'll see D'Millo's on your left... about 3 blocks. The restaurant is actually on a boat. You'll walk across their big parking lot and then onto the boat. Other good things to have there... crab cakes, baked stuffed lobster, all the chowders, lobster roll and/or clam roll. Now I'm hungry!
