airdale Posted October 26, 2007 #28 Share Posted October 26, 2007 Iggipolka...the catagory 11 & catagory 12 cabins aboard the Fantasy class ship. Usually the cabins with a balcony, the suites and penthouses have bathrobes. I have never heard of any other cabins having them. Don

RAVI360 Posted October 26, 2007 #30 Share Posted October 26, 2007 I wish more ships would have "Bathrobe and Beer" parties on the Lido deck. Only think better would be a Toga party...but guess the Bathrobe is as close as Carnival will get :) o.k. now you're talking...please let me know it u set that up:D ...but for now....lets see........bathrobe....lidodeck....soft serve.......hmmmmmmmm
Glama Posted October 26, 2007 #31 Share Posted October 26, 2007 I actually love seeing people wear their robes (in the hallways, or on the lido, not really in the casino or the show room :p ). It reminds me that we're all on a Carnival cruise, that some people are really laid back, and know how to chill-ax. I think it's cute!
lhill1108 Posted October 26, 2007 #32 Share Posted October 26, 2007 I've been on three Carnival Cruises and have no idea what a bathrobe party is, please explain, thanks! Do you have to buy a Carnival robe!
Buster27 Posted October 26, 2007 #33 Share Posted October 26, 2007 I've been on 12 Carnival cruises and also have never heard of a bathrobe/beer party. Sounds fun though. Also, I have been on all the classes of ships and in all the catagory cabins except a suite and have ALWAYS had a bathrobe in my room.
iluvdoxies Posted October 26, 2007 #34 Share Posted October 26, 2007 Just my opinion, but I think folks wearing their bathrobes on the lido deck look ridiculous. Again, just my opinion. me 2.
Charming01 Posted October 26, 2007 #35 Share Posted October 26, 2007 I think a bathrobe under the stars, eating some ice cream or having some hot beverage sounds heavenly!!
bunny1954 Posted October 26, 2007 #36 Share Posted October 26, 2007 I am definitely not a clothing snob, but seeing someone wear their bathrobe to breakfast in the Red Sail dining room on our last Glory cruise made even me take a second look. :o
truecruiser Posted October 26, 2007 #37 Share Posted October 26, 2007 :( Wearing my bathrobe at home is no where even close as fun as wearing a bathrobe on the Lido Deck :( i'm looking for that beer and bathrobe partae. it used to be on miracle, but it stopped. what ship were you on and when... ...or do you just wear it to get coffee, lol?:p

GoinCruisin Posted October 26, 2007 #40 Share Posted October 26, 2007 Only ship I've seen the bathrobe party on was the Miracle... If it's not an organized "bathrobe" party and someone is walking around with their bathrobe on, I agree, it's silly looking... it's a bathrobe people :p
NCTribeFan Posted October 26, 2007 #41 Share Posted October 26, 2007 I think one (or more) of the Costa ships does Toga parties. Both Costa Fortuna and Cost Mediterranea were on my "final" five list when I was trying to pick my upcoming cruise. I don't recall seeing anything in the recent Miracle capers or reviews that mentioned a Bathrobe party. Guess I could go back and have a look, though. I'd be fine with it as long as they require people to wear something underneath!

As for it looking silly, I guess we could all point to all sorts of clothing that people choose to wear that we may think are silly looking, I can think of a couple right now, a tuxedo, any sort of neck tie...... Whatever floats your boat, oops ship. :D Cheers, Peter
SCDreamWeaver Posted October 26, 2007 #46 Share Posted October 26, 2007 WE all (8 of us) wore our Bathrobes to the Lido and along with a couple of bottles of champayne, we had WONDERFUL pictures!! They should have this setting as a casual night photo!!
JHCALLAHAN Posted October 26, 2007 #47 Share Posted October 26, 2007 I had never really thought about it. I have seen some folks on the Lido deck and wished to hell that they would put a bathrobe on...next time you see a 60 year old man in a Speedo you will not think a bathrobe on him would look ridiculous...Honestly, I think it sounds comfy and wish I was wearing one on the Lido now... You said a mouthful there! There were lots of folks showing alot more than I wanted to see on our cruise! I certainly have no objections to bikini babes :D but there were lots of folks that really needed to cover up! Some 60 year old men may look OK in a Speedo, but not when they weigh 385 lbs. I don't look like Tom Sellleck in a swimsuit myself, but I wear a T Shirt as well. I don't care to be seen and am sure no one else wants to see me either (hopefully DW is the exception :p) My 2 cents, JHC
NCTribeFan Posted October 26, 2007 #48 Share Posted October 26, 2007 I looked through the Miracle Capers from one of the September 2007 sailings and didn't see anything about it. Maybe now that she's relocated out of FLL? I'd much prefer to see a man in a tux than wandering around in a bathrobe. Bathrobes aren't intended to be worn in public, folks. Sheesh. Still, I guess I'd rather see a bathrobe in the Lido buffet line than a huge, sweaty guy in swimtrunks. Ick! Yes, you're on vacation. We understand. But you aren't on your private yacht. Just have a teeny, tiny bit of consideration for your fellow passengers. As I said, if it's a Bathrobe party, I'll be there! Otherwise, uh, no. Oh, and I don't wear pajamas out in public, either. No one should be subjected to that spectacle! :p

Whatever floats your boat, oops ship. :D Cheers, Peter I just think there is a time and place for certain clothing. I wouldn't wear a swimsuit to dinner, because a swimsuit is meant for swimming/tanning. Bathrobes are meant to be worn after bathing, prior to clothing (or lounging in privacy), not to be worn around public areas. I have never seen anyone walking around the mall, a hotel, or even in McDonalds, wearing a bathrobe. It's my personal opinion... Now, we had a PJ bar crawl on the ship and everyone wore their PJ's... and some wore bathrobes and it was a lot of fun :D I just don't understand seeing people sitting and eating (it does happen) in their bathrobes... but you are right, whatever floats their boat... LHP Posted October 26, 2007 #50 Share Posted October 26, 2007 If anyone ever sees me in the bathrobe...I assure you I am just headed to the sauna or steam room!!! Believe me, you would rather see me walking down the hallway in my bathrobe...than my swimsuit!!!! (take my word for it) ;)
