Adventure (10/28) vs. Freedom (please compare)?

Been on both (well, actually it was the Liberty OTS, the newer sister to the Freedom) and preferred the AOS more because of it's size. The Liberty is great - so much to do - and very, very similar in layout to the AOS. Our teen sons liked the Liberty more than the AOS.

What do you want to know specifically?

Been on both,no comparison-the Freedom class blows the AOS away.....just the Flowrider, the hot tubs in the adult Solarium that stick out 12 ft. from the side 112 ft. up from sea level, bigger, nicer Royal Promenade, both Chops AND Portifinos (AOS only has Portifinos),Karoeke recording booths for videos (mostly for Kids/teens)...if I were under 18,there would be NO comparison...don't forget the wonderful H20 Fun Zone pool area for kids-absolutely a terrific idea for kids-only on the Freedom ships......

Depends what you are looking for. If you have children esp. teens I would do Freedom. We really enjoyed both so much. The Ports on Adventure are fabulos we did St Lucia and went to the volcano. Freedom we did Western had so much fun in Grand Cayman.

I will say Freedom is a beautiful ship the cruise director Richard is the best CD they have. The show were a step above Adventure. But on Adventure we had an Aft cabin and it was amazing.

San Juan Airport can be a nightmare. That being said, I am flying to San Juan in a few days for my cruise so it was not bad enough that I wouldn't do it again.

Freedom will most likely cost you more, even with the flight to San Juan just because it is new.

Chose by the ports you want to see and you can't go wrong.

Let us know what you choose.:)

Yes, I was on the AOS from Puerto Rico, but I had a great time. MY kids were in the kids club and they had a great time too. They even learned some Spanish. We were on AOS in March before and it was a different group of people on the ship, but I actually like this cruise because the bars and casino weren't crowded at all and since I mostly took the steps, I had no issues with anyone in the elevators.

We were originally booked on AOS for Aug 2008.. and after reading all the negative posts on here, we

switched to FOS.

We were on LOS last summer

and our kids LOVED the H20 zone as did myself!

Thank goodness no salt water pools!

I kept checking airfare to SJU and it kept

climbing...$500pp plus. That was the biggest

reason to change to FOS.. it was only $200

more total to change to FOS.

The pricing difference between AOS and FOS depends on the date of your cruise. For my cruise next Thanksgiving, it would be an additional $750 total for a balcony cabin, plus an additional $70 for the new fuel charge. I've been on both, and would cruise both again.

I've also been on both ships & both in October. I think that the route has alot to do with the choice. The dining room staff is way better on AOS. FOS is newer & grander not better. I prefer the voyager class ship, personally, although I would never again sail AOS on the Aruba route after 10/28/07!! I will sail again but only the St. Lucia, Barbados route!

I've also cruised on both ships in October. I think the Southern Caribbean is a far better cruise than the East/West. The ships are very similar, so just considering the ship and route, I recommend Adventure.

However, I am also one who saw some things on the Adventure that I hope to never see again, regarding fellow passengers. It was also on the Aruba route. It's something for the Op to consider, but remember that it doesn't happen on every cruise.
