My daughter was 18 on our last cruise and she felt too young for the singles and couldn't get into the Camp -- she found the casino, tho' and truly had a success on the slots. She was up over $500 at one time -- and ended up a wash by the end of the cruise. She did the "ship on a stick" games on her own, and she made friends in the video arcade, too. Plus the snorkelling excursions gave her people to meet. Didn't bother her not to drink, except for a glass of wine at dinner.

Next cruise, she'll be 20 (birthday cruise). Plus our first on a larger ship, Conquest. We'll be watching this thread for any ideas or tips we see!

vijoge, encourage your son to get out and start mingling and introducing himself to everyone when he gets onboard. It's a great way to meet people and wherever he goes he'll always see someone he 'knows' onboard or on shore. The dance club is a pretty popular place for that age group.....starting around 12:30 or 1:00 each night.

I'm guessing he'll make friends onboard and you won't see much of him. He should have a blast! :)

Last May we took our DS (20) and my DD (18) with us on the 8 day Miracle cruise. They had no trouble staying busy and entertained. Both found friends around their own age pretty quickly. Dr Frankensteins Lab is a night club for adults and yes they are allowed in all the clubs just no drinking. Every night almost they and their friends would dance for hours sometimes til way in the night. They also went to lots of the shows, hung out by the pool. After they started to get tired from dancing you could often find them on deck in chairs at night by the pool laughing and talking and having a blast. They had no trouble finding things to do. They'd sleep late, order room service for breakfast and then stay up late.
