We are definitely set on doing this excursion after reading all the great reviews here. I just checked our Personalizer and they are allowing us to pre-reserve this excursion but I didn't know there are 2 time periods.

1. 8:30-11:00 AM

2. 11:45-2:30 PM

Our ship gets in at 7AM and leaves at 5PM and since we're reserving it through Princess, I'm not worried about missing either the excursion or the ship.

So, which one would you recommend?

Many thanks!!

I'd definitely go with the early slot.

That way you have the entire rest of the day available for other shopping/sightseeing/beaching it without having to worry about interrupting whatever you're doing to get back to the harbor at a specific time for the mid-day sail.

Agree with Gary, the early slot is BEST. The mid-day time just messes up everything where you can't get very far away from Philipsburg on either side of the trip. Also, the winds tend to be a bit better off Little Bay in the morning. If it's a hot day, the wind could go flat in the afternoon.

By far, the early race is best.

We did the regatta first thing, returned to the ship for a few minutes, then hopped on the water taxi to spend an enjoyable afternoon in downtown Phillipsburg. We had a leisurely lunch at Everyt'ing Cool and had plenty of time to do a little shopping.

Our dining room tablemates who were on Stars & Stripes with us chose to use the afternoon for a snorkeling excursion.
