ricrocs1 Posted January 27, 2008 #1 Share Posted January 27, 2008 Hello, I am a big Rick Springfield fan and he is having a cruise on the destiny in November. Has anyone been on one of these star cruises. There will be other stars also. The price has not been posted yet but it is a 4 day cruise to Key west Cozumel and one day at sea. Any news on if you pay more for a room you get a better seat at the shows. I just hope this cruise is not going to be an arm and a leg. Sure would be nice if it is just the pice of the regular cruise. Thanks

cmez Posted January 27, 2008 #3 Share Posted January 27, 2008 I'm a big Rick Springfield fan too. Part of the details is posted on his website. http://www.rickspringfield.com/full/rsmain.html As of today, no booking or prices. My hubby will kill me, but this would make an awesome girls only cruise!!
SunnyinMA Posted January 27, 2008 #4 Share Posted January 27, 2008 I've seen pricing on other "star" cruises and it has always been more than the regular price...sometimes a lot more. But if your a big fan it would probably be worth the extra $.
Sneezykevina Posted January 27, 2008 #5 Share Posted January 27, 2008 Ohh, I'd love to go! I know Michael W Smith is doing a Cruise this summer and it's $175-$200 extra. They also picked an expensive cruise to start with.

ricrocs1 Posted January 28, 2008 Author #7 Share Posted January 28, 2008 Hello, I was at his concert on Saturday night down in south Florida when i heard about the cruise. Was glad to get home to read about it on his websight. This cruise is in Carnavals websight and the price is under $400.00 for the inside room. Now if this cruise will be more for Rick fans how what happens if we book through carnaval do we not do all the Rick stuff that they will have going on. I thought once you are on the boat you can do everything. We are being told not to book with carnaval so that leads me to think the cruise will be more. I hope it isi just not that much more. Right now there is a good chance I will be on this cruise. I will be going on another cruise in October it is another cruise line. 35th high school reunion cruise. My Daughter treated me to a cruise on the Gloory back in October and I just loved it. I think i am hooked. Does anyone know since i am a past guest will I be able to get a better floor. was on the 8th floor of the glory and just loved it. Thanks
CruisinMenika Posted January 28, 2008 #8 Share Posted January 28, 2008 Normally on a cruise like this, you have to book through whoever is organizing it. If you book through Carnival, you will not be able to attend any of the Rick Springfield events.
cmo4rls Posted January 29, 2008 #9 Share Posted January 29, 2008 A friend of mine, just back from the same ship, Destiny, with Carnival. She said Cozumel is really pretty, & Key West. I am hoping to that the cruise will be affordable..lol
cmo4rls Posted January 29, 2008 #10 Share Posted January 29, 2008 It is my understanding that they are setting up some special invite packages through Www.RickSpringfield.com We are suppose to keep checking his site.

fern1226 Posted February 1, 2008 #15 Share Posted February 1, 2008 I love Rick. That would be awesome to go on a cruise with him. I still have an autographed album that I won from a radio station. If any of you go just know that I'm very jealous. It would be an awesome girls cruise.

My ex wife actually bought me a pair of hospital scrubs to wear to bed so she could pretend she was with Dr. Noah Drake. *LOL* She wore black underwear for a month when Andy Gibb died . Actually I was cool with that, but teh scrubs thing was a little degrading *LOL*

LoraJ Posted February 2, 2008 #20 Share Posted February 2, 2008 I just got off the second Barenaked Ladies cruise. It's a blast. I really don't know how I can return to a normal cruise. I wonder who will be running your cruise. Will it be a charter? Ours was chartered and run by a company called Sixthman - http://sixthman.net/ We book the cruise through them. We even get to pick out what cabin we want.
GoinCruisin Posted February 2, 2008 #21 Share Posted February 2, 2008 Keep in mind that many times with these cruises, the artists don't stay on the cruise (some do) but rather fly in at the first port, perform and leave... the cruises are typically much higher and many people think they are going to be living it up with the artists, only to find out that it's not the case. That said... oh how I used to love me some Dr Noah Drake :D

And they were constantly doing stuff. Here's a video from the cruise last year: Hopefully the Rick Springfield on will be like this.
ricrocs1 Posted February 2, 2008 Author #23 Share Posted February 2, 2008 There is a good possibly that Rick will be right on the ship with the rest of us. He interacts with his fans soo much. Just wish they would post how much extea this cruise will be.
