What massage would you suggest at Krystal's?

There is a choice between relaxing or therapeutic. The relaxing is $75 and the other is $85. They also have singles massages, which I am doing as my husband would rather sit a the pool drinking beer. Have a great cruise.:)

 

Thanks. I was asked if DH wanted a different massage then the one I wanted while we were doing the couples. I was surprised. They offered the 4 hands and asked what he wanted during his couples massage. I was surprised but then I decided I would have the therapeutic and so did DH. My DH loves massages and beer.:D

Might seem like a strange question but due to allergies does anyone know what kind of oils they use? Are you given a choice? We have the couples massage booked for April, and I just wonder if I should pack my own?

I would pack my own and explain (or try to) that you are allergic. They really didn't say more than 10 words, I think. It is all so calm and peaceful. Learn the word "allergic" at least they might understand that if they don't speak english.

 

And yes....you can use their facilities, beach, pools, etc.:D

I just made appointments for us (my best friend and me) for April 28th. One is at noon and the other is at 1:30. Is there a pool or a place to kick back while each of us is waiting for the other to get a massage?

You can get the couples massage and get it at the same time in the same cabana on the beach. You don't have to be a couple to get it. Other women do it when their DHs don't want to. Then you can use their facilities together and no waiting. I'd call back and change it.:D Of course its up to you....just a thought.;)

I would like to schedule a massage but I will have my 8 year old daughter with me. Is there a place in the cabana where she can sit near me and read or play her Gameboy while I get a massage? I thought we could then hang out on the beach or by the pool when I was done.

We did a couples massage at the Krystal. It is in a tent very close to the beach. It is very private but you can still hear the ocean. You can wear as much or as little as you like. It would probably be rather warm in the summertime.

Does it take a long time to get an answer? I really really want a massage and facial and sent them an email last month. Heard nothing so I sent another email last week asking for an apt for May 1st. I have heard a walk in might not work so I really really want to make an appointment but don't know how? :eek:

We sent an email to Krystal about a massage on 3/24 and got no answer, sent another Friday and got an answer on Saturday. I did say in the latest email that I was considering another facility. Not sure if they are doing facials since I've heard on one of these threads that they are doing construction on the Spa.

It took me a while to get a reply. I sent 2 emails and no reply. I sent another email on my DH's email and I got a reply. I think the emails I sent with my aol email addy the replies were put into my spam folder. :eek:

I was there on 4/1 and my dh sat around the pool for the 75 minutes enjoying a cerveza! I have to say this was the best massage I ever had! I honestly believe I fell asleep while she was working on my back. I chose to leave on my bathing suit bottom, but whatever you're most comfortable with would work.

 

A woman who was there while I was did get a mani/pedi, so I believe they still have that.

 

Definitely the best $40 I've ever spent!

I tried emailing on a different email account and you were right. My yahoo account must have sent it to spam. I received an answer within 48 hours and have an apt for a 75 min massage and 80 min facial for only $75.00 USD Cash. I am sooo happy.

Just back from our cruise on the Golden yesterday so I am reporting back as promised. I have to say that the 4 hands massage at the Krystal was the best massage I've ever had.

 

When you get to the Krystal for a massage you will be escorted past the pool area to a series of tented cabanas on the beach. There is a chair and massage bed in each and you will be shown to your cabana and instructed to disrobe and lie face down on the table. There is a large beach towel to cover up with. The two massage therapists enter when you are all ready and spend an entire hour on the greatest massage ever with the sound of the birds and ocean adding to the total relaxation.

 

For $75 it is a bargain. I tipped both generously as they deserved it and compared to the prices and quality of massage on the ship this is a real deal. I will be back every time we visit Puerto Vallarta!

You will see under the Massage section to the right the very last massage listed is the Four Hands Massage.

 

I wasn't dripping oil when I finished as it pretty much absorbed into my skin. There was no problem at all using the pool after the massage. I was probably less oily than most people by the pool slathering on sunscreen before jumping in so no need to worry. You will be fine to go into the pool afterwards.

Thanks Mary. I hadn't actually gone to their website to view their offerings...just what was posted here. I'll check it out. I've been to a pool where they didn't let you in the water if you used an oil, okay to go in if you used a lotion. (tanning/sunscreeen). Just thought I'd check.
